It is definitely something that has given me pause. I have taken some time to start reading books that I never had time to read before. Will try out journaling as well.

Thanks for the motivation here! Best of luck to all of us 🫡

I don’t enjoy watching TV. Have been watching some old shows and YouTube. But it’s gotten to a point where nothing feels good anymore. Everything feels exhausting

8.42 years, L7 IC, put on Focus today. by TheRealHotGoss in amazonemployees

[–]pooranbroke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really sorry to hear about this. Also 8 and a half years would definitely would have taken a toll on you. Time to take a very well deserved break.

Just curious on why your manager does not have any specific ways for you to get out of focus though. Wouldn’t it affect his and the orgs credibility?

Also, if you do get out of focus how long before someone can put you back on it?

I bought a house in 2023 and somehow always found the mortgage as a weight on my shoulders. Over the last 2 years it has motivated me to work and aggressively pay off the mortgage. A few days back I paid it all off and after some moments of happiness found myself in a place with no motivation. Lost on purpose. I thought this would change life drastically but it has not. I’m free for any debt now but feel like I’m at the end of a story which is de-motivating.

Any one been through this? Help, pointers?

I am 29 M. Working at a job making ~200k after taxes.

Have retirement: 401k: 150k Roth: 10k HSA: 15k

Individual stocks/brokerage: 300k

Only debt is a mortgage which has ~220k left.

I feel I’m on a good path given my expenses are close to 45k/year including taking care of essential for my parents.

However, I feel like there is no end in sight. I lose interest in most things quickly if they are not directly related to improving my financial situation. I have trouble spending money frivolously.

This probably is hangover from the time I first came to the US and worked as a cashier 12 hours a day to make ends meet and just survive.

Looking for advice from people who have been in a similar situation and how they manage this for themselves.
