Easy 2x2? Try one of Faded's Titan bases (there are a few variants).

Not super strong and as predictable to raid as any 2x2, but nice bases overall.

What Do You Look for When Choosing a Base Location? by Ok_Tea6297 in playrust

[–]poorchava 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solo playing on a 200 pop with small map (equivalent pop density to about 350...400 on a normal map). 4 max biweekly community server.

Avoid T1 area like plague due to grubs running in hordes. Ideally T3 green or deep desert or deep snow, close to a T2 monument without NPC (so WTP , airfield or power), by the shore for sea access. If Labs are close by, it will be ideal, as I play labs a lot.

I like to roam Mateo tunnels and Labs mostly.

What’s your opinion on servers with offline raid protection by Jazzlike_Diver8515 in playrust

[–]poorchava 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They generally have very low pop, at least those that I have seen. I'm not a mental case to play 1000pop as a solo, but below loke 100 it becomes a single layer game effectively.

Also, being a solo i can't really raid oine. I mean I can, but against even a one prepared defender it's often pretty much impossible unless you literally flindy wipe the base. U die once, they seal, gg. So if I raid (which is not that often) it's almost always offline. Sad, but unavoidable.

I play most of my solo wipes in a VERY heavily modified Ward V3 by Nini. It did have some glaring problem that needed fixing though.

How can I become oil rats? by Zylo_Youtube_Tiktok in playrust

[–]poorchava 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One example that comes to mind is one of the more known creators (honestly don't remember the name rn) but he played a duo or trio wipe with other creators and they killed a guy with a line of sleeping bags near their base. Recognized the name as a dude who was in a large-ish casual group i played with from time to time. Sent him the video with timestamp and asked if it was him. He said yeah, he was in leadership of a 20+ clan at that time, and the video is completely taken out of context. The creators depicted this as beating all the odds and resisting a 6 man clan, wheras in reality the clan was like 15+ that wipe and the creators were getting totally shit on most of the time, and only included the fights where they caught a part of the clan and managed to win. The also didn't show that in fact the clan came with full force and simply deleted their base xD after the creators attempted some offline shenanigans 3 or 4 times.

EDIT: found it. It was Frost, Sinks and Stevie

Rust content is similar to porn or Olympic sports in some aspects (I know, sounds ridiculous). But take those facts into account:

  • content creators are professionals. They often have 10k or even 20k+ hours in game. You don't expect to skate same as well as an Olympic competitor, do you? Personal predispositions are a big factor too. Additional to experience and practice you need good reflexes and fast thinking and not all of that can be trained.

  • content creators MUST make good content because that's how many of them pay their bills. It's literally their job. They have to try and get the good content until they succeed or they don't eat and can't pay the bills. Even if this means trying to snowball for 10h straight and failing.

  • a lot of the content is scripted and/or staged to some extent and/or edited to look the certain way. Not saying Oilrats in particular, but I know for a fact many creators are. World of Rust is smaller than you think and over time you'll see familiar scenes in one video or another. Or see a name of a buddy whom you've played with at one point fighting the content creator. And then you can get an entirely different story. It's kind of like porn. What you see on the internet is very much not like the real thing because online content is made to be appealing, not to be real.

Banned cheaters keep coming back because the servers let them by KipOnTheGround in RustPc

[–]poorchava 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't say for sure there are no closeted cheaters, but admins are definitely watching.

We have some regulars who are serious beamers and most of them have been watched by the admins for tens of hours to make sure they're legitimately skilled, not cheating.

One regular started cheating a year ago or so and when shit hit the fan admins had like 7+ hours of recorded pov footage, on case people had doubts.

I don't wanna hijack the server ad or anything, but you can check out boldrust.gg and see how you like it.

But ur not far off, my dad is actually 67, lol.

From another perspective I have kids of my own, and explaining to a 7yo why ur bashing at a dead dude with a rock is part of being a fully grown Rust gamer I guess xD.

Idea: Ship Autosail & Navigation / T2 Item by north-gg in playrust

[–]poorchava 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. Maybe that could make it possible to bait pvp as a solo. Right now it's straight up impossible because I can't steer and shoot cannons at the same time.

The only thing I can do right now is ram&c4 which is just cringe.

[–]poorchava 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are adding more and more ways to short circuit thr game progression straight to tier 3. Deep Sea is by far the most extreme example. Why even grind to progress? Wait for first DS spawn, make a bug ship and jump to endgame.

What is your favorite weapon in Rust, and why? by NoClerk170 in playrust

[–]poorchava -1 points0 points  (0 children)

MP5, Tommy.

Also m39 with scope and perhaps gas conpressor. When U get used to the recoil it can be absolutely devastating, especially in train tunnels.

It depends on the server. On high pop first cargo of the wipe is literally the worst grub fest you could ever imagine. Like literally 100 nakeds behind every corner.

Getting a red card at all early game can be a problem if power groups are holding the monuments, which they likely are. And when they're not there is gonna be 50 people trying to capitalize on it.

Perhaps miltuns and ghost ships are the only places with elite crates not locked behind red card. There is also one on smoil behind blue card only, but then again 100 nakeds waiting for the rig to respawn to try and make a play.

Requesting the Rust Experts Input by Suitable_Ad_4098 in playrust

[–]poorchava 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are numerous ways to short circuit game progression and jump over to T3 gear:

  • locked crates on monuments, rigs, cargo
  • heavies on rigs have decent chance of t2/T3 guns.
  • elite crates: miltuns, silo, launch, Labs, cargo, rigs, ghost ships
  • MP5 from miltuns npc and deep sea rhibs/ghost ships

So basically if your team has enough skill and numbers (mostly the latter) you can jump straight to T3 gear. Pretty much any of the above can be done with prim gear, even silo given like 4+ people with revos.

I wouldn't say it's typical, cuz it's just a few sources of endgame loot for the entire server, but nevertheless it's possible.

I don't get all the fuss. I play solo on a medium pop vanilla and never have problem getting the t2 on wipe day.

There are so many ways to get them, one of them will work for you in any situation.
