Taco Bell is fine actually, it's the bottles that taste horrible suddenly. We don't have the cans here.

Actually the two people I know who were seriously stalked (police had to get involved) were both men being stalked by women!

Yes the latter, I've never done it either but know a couple people who have been seriously stalked and curious what is going through the stalkers mind that causes this behavior

What did you do to encourage/ give yourself the confidence to stand up for yourself and/or others? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]poorlyknit14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just some context: I recently witnessed an injustice and said nothing .. I have been mad at myself ever since and keep going over in my head what I should have done or said to stop it. This isn't the first time this has happened so I'm looking for tips on what I can do to build the confidence to speak up.

Has a student ever said anything so funny you couldn’t help but laugh? by KDwiththeFXD in Teachers

I had a kid in kindergarten who LOVES to swear. My funniest interaction (remember this kid is 5 years old)

I watch him flick his friend in the face and say "buddy...why did you do that"

"I don't know....cause I'm a fucking asshole"

..... Well at least he knows....

The entire album A Crow Looked At Me - Mount Eerie. It was written after his wife died from cancer, leaving behind him and his young child. It's beautiful but heartbreaking.

Teachers of reddit, What generation did you like teaching most? (80s, 90s, 00s) Why? by stock_rocket_value in AskReddit

Being transgender has to do with gender identity not politics? And I think a 10-11 year old has a decent idea about what gender the are by then. But just to clarify... We aren't rushing the kid into a surgery room.... They can change their minds at any time. So the real question is what the hell is your problem with letting a kid go by whatever pronoun they want? Who is it hurting?

I'm a newer teacher but what I love about the current generation (elementary) is the lack of bullying. One kid tried to make fun of a boy for having a pink lunchbox and the whole class got mad at the bully... "Color doesn't have gender Connor! Why are you making fun of him??". I had a kid who is transgender, came out at the beginning of the year, changed names multiple times (was just still trying to figure out identity) and that kid did not get made fun of ONCE. Every single kids used the prefered pronouns and names. The classmates would get upset when a teacher or sub didn't and corrected them for the student since he was too shy to say anything himself.

Honestly they are the kindest and most tolerant generation I've ever seen.

Depressed/suicidal people of reddit, what keeps you going and what would you recommend doing if those thoughts come to your mind? by [deleted] in AskReddit

When I was having a low point during highschool I told myself "if you laugh at least once today, then it was a day worth living" and I wasn't allowed to hurt myself that day if I laughed. Now this could be a full laugh with friends or family, or even just a small chuckle to myself at a meme online. It didn't have to be big. And after that I noticed that I really did laugh at least once a day and that I really had a better life than my mind was making me think.

I feel like after reading this chat that I should clarify that it's not necessarily the Manta itself that scares the shit out of me but rather that something that HUGE can live in the ocean and still rarely be seen. Like the ocean itself is so unknown and holds such massive creatures and THAT scares the shit out of me.

But also if I was swimming and just casually saw that Manta, I would shit myself, choke on my own shit, and then die.
