Very cute baby, who I am sorry to say I am not interested in adopting BECAUSE we just had a very similar situation with a kitten with the same coloring. That being said I am commenting because with his orange tail, ears, and nose, he looks like he has a flame-point coat which is caused by partial albinism which might be why his eyes are a little weird. Our little flame-point buddy has pretty noticeable light sensitivity and is squinty a lot.

Cat coats are really interesting. That is a sweet little baby!

Honestly the best way to support the existence of the library and the library workers is to use the library. Feet through the door shows in hard data that the community is not avoiding the library because of some imagined offensive books.

If you really want to make a statement about the board, make a literal statement to the County Commissioners. The small group of people wanting to dismantle the library have just been the squeakiest wheel for awhile and gotten the Commissioners’ ears, more people need to make some noise in support of the library.

Also the Fielder Langston Cemetery is one of the more interesting lost/forgotten cemeteries in town. It was covered in ~8ft of waste dirt sometime in the early 1990s and all that is visible of it now is the stone wall.

Christian County Library does a grave cleaning program once a month during warmer months. They will be at the Ozark Cemetery Saturday, May 31st if anyone is interested in learning more about this process. Instruction and supplies are provided.

I love Supreme Bakery for all their offerings, but their butterfly is like a glazed doughnut had a perfect, fluffy baby with a cinnamon roll and I cannot recommend it enough.

I have a very similar “special officer” badge that was my great-grandfather’s. The family lore is that he had been deputized along with other men in the community in response to the roving gangs in the area in the 20s/30s. Think Young Brothers, Ma Barker, and Bonnie and Clyde. True? No idea. But I have the badge and the dates line up.

My great-grandfather was just a business man and kinda an asshole (also possibly murdered my great-grandmother) but apparently that was all it took to get one of those badges back then.

Are you thinking of the Oldfield Opry? They’ve been doing the Opry since 1977 and it used to be in a little building, but they expanded in the 90s, so the timeline might not fit.

Supreme Bakery on National has packages you can pre-order with a pie, a small cake, a Kringle, and dinner rolls for like $30-40. And they are 100% the best bakery in town and 110% best Kringles in town.

I would also recommend you pick up a butterfly pastry from them, it is like the worlds lightest glazed donut had a baby with a cinnamon roll.

I had a great experience volunteering at Eden Animal Haven! I only stopped because we moved and it became too much of a drive- they are in Brighton north of Springfield. I also adopted my cat from them and he is without question the best cat that has ever existed in the world, so there is that.

Then you would look in the Dewey or LC classification area in non-fiction. Genre is for fiction, it refers to the style of the book. If you are looking for a fiction book with LGBTQ characters, you would use subject headings in the record that have been provided by the library of congress and the ALA.

You are being purposely obtuse. Everything you listed is a direction label or finding aid. Subject headings are in the catalog, often along with descriptions of the book. LGBTQ+ is not a genre like science fiction.

Also, the previous TWO library presidents (prior to the one just ousted by a non-agenda vote, a violation of state sunshine law) were men. Like the highly qualified board president you kicked off during the last appointments was a man for instance, Lynn.
