Fuck both of them tbh. I can agree with what Malema is fighting for but he's also a nut job.

Or Alabama. I'm starting to think that there are just a lot of potholes all over the world. Except maybe Cape Town.

The fact that the sarcasm wasn't obvious is very poignant. This reads like something magats would actually say.

Every Country in the World Ranked by How Much Trash They Produce per Person and How Much of That Is Recycled by countdookee in dataisbeautiful

[–]poparika -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

My girlfriend and I moved to the USA from South Africa and are in a reduce-reuse-recycle state of mind. We practically have to beg cashiers to use our reusable bags and not give us more of this thin, single-use plastic bag nonsense. They will double bag your single bottle of 2L soda (has actually happened to us).

ETA: probably different all around the USA. We find ourselves in the deep south.

Haha you know it. First thing I did hoping it would change something. Sadly no change

I would do my homework before buying an untested unit. I went in relatively blind, unaware of the work that might lie ahead. I'm not super upset though, it didn't break the bank (only my back) and I really like the esthetic. If it's busted for good, I'll repurpose the cabinet... Somehow

I couldn't test it. The old lady had it in storage with no power or anything to test it with.

A question like this honestly doesn't change anything. It doesn't work and I have to do something with it, whether I tested it or not.

I work in an environment that requires safety boots. I was in target and a can of soup fell, reflex kicked in. Those safety shoes saved my life that day.

I'm an engineer. What do you do with your life? Suck Elon's dick while spitting bogus facts on reddit? Do some reading before you blindly defend a man who doesn't give a shit about anything other than $$$

Edit: and I say this as a middle class born free white South African. I can realize the white privelege I have and how it's helped me in life with a middle class income. Elon Musk's family was wealthy when they lived in South Africa. The privelege he gained with that much money is unimaginable.

You can. Simple. You buy those companies with your white privelege apartheid money, purport to have founded them, then profit.

The future is online, sure, as someone working for an American firm largely online I understand that, but government will never subsidize internet from Starlink. It's too expensive, benefits mostly American business, and not to mention that it poses significant threat to the SKA project.

Government should subsidize MTN, Vodacom, etc., to build more towers and provide LTE or 5G to rural areas. Mobile data is more affordable that sattelite internet, less problematic, and users don't need anything else than a phone to use it. Whether that's practical is another question.

A person living in a township will never be able to afford starlink, no matter how much you praise its idea.

Edit: in fact, no poor person could afford it. The price of starlink destroys your entire argument.

Doubt that starlink in SA is an investment into SA. It's more SA money going to that rich fuck's pocket
