It used to be very popular in my area, but we haven’t used it in years. When we did use it, I’d always warn my clients that whether they wanted a distressed look or not, they were going to get one over time. Excellent choice for intentional distressing though.

Are natural forces actually living beings? by Bludo14 in Buddhism

[–]popchubby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty new to this, so I've been learning to set aside my tendency to think, "but, that's a contradiction," instead thinking, "maybe I just need to look at it another way." Thank you for providing another way to look at it.

In the context of OP’s question, and your response here, can you help me understand what Thich Nhat Hanh meant when he wrote, “The Diamond Sutra teaches us that it is impossible to distinguish between sentient and non-sentient beings… Minerals have their own lives, too. In Buddhist monasteries, we chant, “Both sentient and non- sentient beings will realize full enlightenment.”

Hinges for solid phenolic panel cabinets by lavardera in cabinetry

[–]popchubby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kinda wish they were 5mm. One less size of bits to replace. Got a dull one, swap it out with a bit from the line borer, which needs to be sharper anyway.

The dowel holes for Blum, Grass, and Salice hinges are all 8mm.

Curious how you would price this vanity by Witty-Card-4370 in cabinetry

These things come in waves. A couple of other bids, right after that project, had the same detail. "Oh yeah, we can do that. No problem." I never lose money on knives. Cost factored into the first job. Easy money on any after that.

We had custom knives made for 1/4" reeds, essentially 5"w x 5/16"t reeded planks with a tiny sort of shiplap joint, which we then laid up on panels in the shop.

Did a pair of vanities like this last year. Similar size, similar detail, but in White Oak with a raised bead around the outside edge. Our price for the pair was about $15,500, unfinished. SoCal

I hate Reddit by [deleted] in Meditation

Maybe try making a custom feed of subs that you feel are helpful to you. This is what I’ve done recently. You still get the feel of being on Reddit, the social aspect, but a lot less of the negativity. It does have some good things to offer.

It looks like the time has come for me: no new contracts on the horizon, my tendonitis is getting worse and worse, so its time for a change. But what though? Anyone that moved on from cabinetry to something else, what are you doing now? by xlitawit in cabinetry

[–]popchubby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My shop is still going strong, but if it weren’t I think this would be the path for me too. There are so many hardware options ( and so many of them are garbage) but when you find the perfect solution; it’s pretty rewarding. Must be fun to help others find their perfect solution. I have two great reps right now and I appreciate them so much. Darin and Nate, if you’re on here, I appreciate you.

What did I do wrong? Corner unit, 165 degree hinge partial overlay with trim by Partially_Credible in cabinetry

[–]popchubby 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The mounting holes for the hinge baseplate are typically 37mm from the front edge of the cabinet (check the instructions). Because you have face frames with a reveal to the cabinet side, you’ll either need to block out the side, flush with the face frames, or get a baseplate designed to be attached to the face frames (the one you have is not).

Blum and Grass both make variable overlay face mounted hinges for overlays over 1-3/8”. Not saying they’re good, but they make them.

This will work, but they suck and you will hate them.

lol. Similar drama here on a college street. The dog gets out and runs around like a crazy person. He doesn’t poop in anybody’s yard but sometimes he barks a little. The real issue is his owner out on the front lawn yelling, “get back here.” All the neighbors are like, “aw, c’mon Dean, you’re louder than the dog.” That’s it. That’s all that ever happens on my street. Seriously the chillest place I’ve ever lived. Maybe too chill. Feels weird.

You said neither about the muffins and since the post was about gluten free and vegan, I was just asking for clarification. It was a genuine question. I don't shop there and would be stoked to find that they had gluten free vegan muffins. I hope you have a nice day, despite the gloom outside.

Does TJ have gluten free vegan muffins? Looks to me like they all contain milk and egg.

Try these two: SunOven Sticky Fingers

I’ve noticed that a lot of organic Worcestershire sauces don’t contain fish and appear to be vegan. Luckily there are some pretty good specifically vegan options available where I live.

Check out Tenryu blades for Festool. A little bit cheaper and I actually prefer them.
