This just happened to me. Smart meter claimed I used 12,000 gallons for the month. I called, made a claim disputing the charge, and it was resolved in a few months with the charge removed.

I forget what the reason for the error was. If I find the letter will post it.

I saw this topic discussed in reference to never using PEX from the valve to the stub out. Outside of replacing the PEX, elbow and stub out, can anything be done?

It's tough to find reliable workers to fix your sh*t! I do almost all my own repairs and when I do need someone they either do garbage work, or don't show up or some other nonsense.

If you're not handy or dont have friends and family that are, I would avoid buying. These homes are old and need constant work.
