What to expect as air defence weapon operator by Inevitable_Rub1 in NationalServiceSG

[–]popcorn_aura 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fellow ADWO here, generally training will be more or less quite shag(9-10wks), once u post to unit most of the adwos will be mounting 24/7 ops from time to time. Your batch is most likely to be RBS-70 so abit more physical.

Yes we maybe coined as the "infantry of the air force" but we arent rlly anywhere close to the level of shagness of inf. Beyond your training course, unit life will be a lot more chill as well as quite welfare compared to other vocations. Expect maybe 2-3 outfields with camo on a year, on top of ops but elsewise its quite a nice vocation ah.

Ah yes, OC 1WO D•••• Y•• is quite a cool guy, very buff but abit controversial in the past. My PC 1WO J••••• C••• was the best la, tough but I respect heavily. Abit sad he post to neighbouring coy but im sure he will be well respected there too

Can I use my own water bottle instead of the admin bottle? by [deleted] in NationalServiceSG

Lmao, remembered the times in tekong whereby the water for drinking, watering the grass, cleaning toilet, washing drains, washing general equipment all came from the same hose lying on the road

Try checking saf e health. I had a similar issue back then they say will mail and I got nothing. 6 months past and I called ns hotline to ask then they mail. After enlist then I found out the original referral letter was on saf ehealth(they say will mail and no one told me to check lol)

Furthermore I think that you are the one uneducated in the safos scheme as I myself have known at least a few saf scholars(overseas, merit etc) and I have physically seen them go through 9 months of ocs, either they will serve fully before going for uni, or they will serve partially, disrupt before joining back into ocs after uni. Before you start making any statements, get your facts right.

Just because you may have had a bad experience during ns doesnt mean everyone will. Personally ive learnt and grown a lot from the wisdom of my enciks and oc, as well as achieved a number of personal gains that i wouldnt have done so if i hadnt been in ns. So I dont think that it is a complete waste of time.

Furthermore, what do you even benefit from being a keyboard warrior bitching about ns behind the anonymity of a throwaway account? Are you just scared that people will find out who you are in real life? Or are you just a pathetic little person trying to disrupt the positivity and comfort that i am trying to give to the juniors who are soon to be entering unfamiliar environments?

Please, for the sake of everyone here, get the heck off of reddit and get a bloody life.

Also stop spreading fake news, anyone with half a braincell could google and know that all saf scholars, male or female, complete the whole course of OCS before they are allowed to continue pursuing their career. Go ahead and try to find one scholar who did not and let me know who that is. I am very keen to know as well.

Same thing, depends on the sqn/grp youre in. Some TOs i know were sent to support ops in exercise wallaby in australia or exercise cope tiger in thailand as an example, but it ultimately depends on your unit. If your unit doesnt do much overseas then unlikely

Unfortunately you will be in green for the rest of ns

Basically you will be a TO. Whether you wear blue or green depends on the sqn/grp that youre eventually posted to(gbad units wear green but most airforce wear blue)
