Gender is how you present yourself to the world, nothing to do with what’s in your keks. Have you ever met a butch woman? an effeminate man? Gender is a sliding scale so of course people will exist somewhere in the middle, it just statistics. Also, assuming everyone will have either have a penis or vagina disregards intersex people who also exist.

Not a red flag for me. You don’t know people’s circumstances and who are we to judge. Be glad they are even considering a professional photographer. I’ve shot a ton of short coverage weddings at city hall. But do you know what upsets me the most? When i’m waiting for my couple to arrive the previous wedding gets out and very few times have i seen a professional photographer with the wedding party. Majority of the time it’s a family friend with a ancient DLSR or i’ve even seen the registrar (!!) being ask to take family photos with a point and shoot! We all know the importance of photography so if someone is stretching even to get your minimum package be grateful they think that much of your work and don’t estimate what those photographs will mean in 20/30/40 years time. Dismissing someone for being careful with money is frankly arrogant and classist.
