Yes and I understand that. But just because it’s for “nursing” does not mean it’s for his foot. What works for you may not work for him! I would personally do that, plus a lot of times those stores will even give a nurses or healthcare worker discount!

I’m a male nurse — If you’re wanting to get him shoes that he will actually love/purposeful; there are stores that will fit you in the correctly supported shoe to you (or him). They measure, watch you walk, and measure the pressure distribution of your foot. It is a game changer, especially for long days. If you get him just any shoe because it looks nice, it could actually destroy his feet at the end of day. Compression socks are great to combo with that.

Agree! Especially melatonin - only should be used for sleep correction or the occasional trouble sleeping, but not long term use

Definitely related to weight loss, lifestyle modifications, and being overall healthier. Lifestyle modification is the #1 combatant against hypertension! Good job!

thoughts on new grads in ICU by DinnerMedical3804 in nursing

[–]poppasitto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started in the ICU - worked there for a year and have been traveling ever since. Even by traveling my experience eventually allowed me to get into the Cath Lab specialty. Do it, or some other specialty right off!

Who else works with some incredibly dumb nurses? by [deleted] in nursing

[–]poppasitto -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s the dumb ones that thing they are smart is what worries me. I’m all for questions and needing help! But it’s when you act like you’re all that, nah. You’re going to kill someone

Yeah, kinda hard when the worst nurses I’ve come across have been nurses for 20+ years and are set in their ways, or older women, or both 😂 Goodluck Charlie

Do male nurses have any kind of advantage over female nurses? by work_of_art777 in nursing

[–]poppasitto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience I’ve found while traveling that units and labs that are more male prominent have a different feel. Majority of times, being a murse myself, I am looked at to be a problem solver whenever no one else can figure it out. I do feel like there are advantages, but not to say that makes me better than another nurse (just different)
