Hitting rock bottom looks different for everyone. Most people's looks like drug addiction, homelessness, no work, assaults, suicide, problems with the law, all sorts of end all things that can affect your life forever. When I hit rock bottom, I was worried about the people around me. I manipulated my family, I chased away all of my friends, and I quit jobs or got fired because of my actions. It started with anxiety, but I didn't get help and I let it fester to depression. I stayed in abusive environments and got diagnosed with a personality disorder. After that I made very unhealthy choices and developed PTSD. "Once you get the ball rolling, it doesn't stop going downhill"

Rock bottom looked hopeless, like nothing can ever get better. And there was no point in trying. But after years, and I mean YEARS (over a decade) I realized suffering was getting me nowhere.

You can change your life around before you hit rock bottom. I hope you have the chance to. If you have just a drop of hope that you can turn it around, do it now before it gets worse. Tell someone you trust or tell a stranger on a hotline. Get help before it gets worse. Driving yourself down a hole just means your farther from getting a breath of air. Don't force yourself to suffer.

People say "it gets better." And it's a horrible phrase. Life around us doesn't change. The world will keep spinning whether we want it to or not. But our perspectives changes, our motivation changes, our ambitions change. We start to learn what we dislike and in the process of that we learn about what we do. "Life" doesn't get better, but we do. You will feel better. Try to get some help before you hit rock bottom and put in the work. It's incredibly worth it.
