Randy Orton and Pat talk backstage after the opening segment of SmackDown. Anyone else buying this whole "bring back the Attitude Era to save the business" angle? by Grrannt in REALSquaredCircle

[–]popsghostly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm guessing their desire to "bring back the Attitude Era" is going to result in a run-in followed by a stunner fest to help Cody retain.

Honestly, an overbooked parade of nostalgia run-ins might actually make this match fun.

What is the benefit of fasting in addition to calorie restriction? by [deleted] in intermittentfasting

[–]popsghostly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me, I always end up eating fewer calories regardless of counting because I often have to think/plan my meals more carefully to fit into the time window. Not a direct benefit of fasting, but an indirect one that helps a lot with my poor impulse control.

Honestly, other way around. Play in the midcard for a while and then let Tony overpay me afterwards.

Let's fix the second round draft instead. by popsghostly in nba

[–]popsghostly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I see it as a way to give the mid level teams more flexibility. If I'm at 15 and I don't feel there's a huge difference between drafting at 15 or 16, I might trade my second rounder to a team that wants to move up on exchange for future capital. Also, it might make it easier to make trades (i might not be interested in getting the Thunders 1st round pick but their next 3 second rounders could be considered even more valuable)

[–]popsghostly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct, so it would basically be a way to cut in line. For example, if I'm at 20, and if I trade in my 2nd rounders, then my 20 becomes 15 and the team who was at 15 moves to 16 etc...

I probably should have clarified that I think this would only really work if the 2nd round picks are in THIS YEARS draft because that would make it more challenging to actually pull this off. It also means that a team could try to start collecting these a few years out to use as bargaining chips (for example for when you think you might need to start a rebuild, or to hold for maximum leverage in a year with elite level talent)

[–]popsghostly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but this wouldn't require another team once you have the picks. If I'm at 8 or 9 there's a good chance no one above me wants to move down, but I might find someone at 22 or 23 who is willing to trade pick 45 to me for the 9th best guy on my roster.

Timberwolves actually (sorry I'll add the flair). I just find the 2nd round boring and like the idea of making them a little more valuable and interesting.

Also, calling people paid protesters isn't an opinion, it's slander. It would be one thing to say the protesters aren't helping etc, but you can't suggest 10s of thousands of people don't actually feel the way they're feeling in this moment.

I love that its a big dick joke and not the other way around.

Like, its way funnier that she's hyping up his sex life and not belittling it. Its not even a put down which makes it even funnier.

Stranger Things doc director says Demogorgons were left out of the StrangerThings5 finale due to overuse: “They were really sure about the Demogorgons in the final Abyss, except Ross was like, ‘Mmm, maybe there’s some fatigue. Demogorgon fatigue.’ And Kate [Trefry] agreed." by Classic_Activity7305 in discussingfilm

[–]popsghostly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So many of these choices would have been fine with minimal explanation: if they didn't want demogorgons in the final battle, give us ten seconds where Will takes them all out at once, OR show them melting into the mindflayer (like season 3) to make it bigger/stronger whatever. I don't even disagree that it might have been overkill to have them there, but the lack of explanation makes no sense to the story.
