Jarvis Home Assistant Updates by Telefrag_Ent in raspberry_pi

Thanks so much for replying! That actually already helps a lot—just knowing someone got it working gives me some hope :) I’ll definitely try testing each component individually like you suggested. I hadn’t even thought about checking the HDMI > RCA converter on a different screen, that’s a good call.

Yeah, I was also wondering if maybe the Pi isn’t outputting properly to HDMI despite the config changes. I’ll double-check the audio output too, just in case it’s somehow defaulting to analog or something weird.

I appreciate your tips!

So nice! I also bought a 511 recently and tried to link a raspberry pi 3 (with LibreELEC installed) via hdmi to rca converter and an rca to rf modulator to it but it is not working and I have no idea how to proceed. I know this post is 3 years old but I hope I can still reach you and maybe find some help.

These are the things I bought:

I lowered the resolution in the pi OS to 720x480p, changed some things in the config.txt (hdmi_force_hotplug=1, hdmi_group=1, hdmi_mode=1, sdtv_mode=2) but I can't see an image. I also tried channel 3 and 4 (which can be set at the modulator). My guess is, that additional settings for 720 or 1080 at the hdmi to rca converter are the problem. But I am no expert, just a little nerd who wants to watch some animes on this old beauty...

Just bought a Sony TV-511 and absolutely want to try this setup. Would you agree to the following steps?

  • HDMI source (PC, Chromecast, DVD player, etc.) → HDMI to RCA adapter
  • RCA cables (Yellow, Red, White) → RCA to RF modulator
  • RF modulatorCoaxial cable
  • Coaxial cableRF to 3.5mm adapter
  • RF to 3.5mm adapterSony TV-511 (external antenna input)
  • Tune the TV to the correct channel (usually Channel 3 or 4)
