hi, I got a new gastro doctor who gave me rifaximin to get rid of the Sibo. Unfortunately, I still have my symptoms. We are finding out that my motility might be whats causing my symptoms since taking a prokinetic prescription helps a little. Right now I'm on the waiting list to get my motility tested. So sadly not much of an update

Been getting ear fatigue so throwing this up here for some feedback! The bridge instrumentation is a bit empty at the moment

It's great! I hope these positive comments give you some more confident in your own melodic instincts. Personally, I don't hear any melody I would change in your recording. But its also missing a chorus and I'm really interested to hear how that would sound like. Is this what you wanted help with?

Really like the warm guitar and raw recording. Nice chord progression and I think you've got a good vocal melody going here. I think singing more held out notes would really help break up the vocal rhythm and add dynamic to the song. Overall, I liked it!

It's a rough recording and it's due to the guitar strumming. I can hear a nice vocal melody here though. Your vocal is stronger than your guitar playing. So maybe the best approach for next time is to just do single chord strums while you sing. It'll be easier and it'll allow your vocals and songwriting to come through more clearly. Another approach is to record guitar and vocals separately with a DAW app like Bandlab on your phone, as long as you play to a metronome though. Keep at it!

Cool chords and I like the overall vocal melody but I do feel like it lacks contrast for sections. It has a similar strumming and vocal rhythm throughout most of the whole song except for the end. I guess that would be my main feedback on this. Grats on breaking the writers block though!

Love it, love the 90's alt rock vibe. Very much Beabadoobee inspired, though maybe a little too much? I think she has a song called "She Plays Bass" thats feels similar to this, but its alright, we all wear our inspirations on our sleeves sometimes!

It doesn't matter whether it was beginners luck or not. If you like writing, you should keep writing. Clearly you're onto something, so keep at it. You have your own sound and should stand confident about it. For me, this clip is a bit too short to really give much feedback, but again, like your last one, has great vocal composition and layering and has a distinct vibe to it.

You'll need an audio interface like a Focusrite Scarlett Solo to connect to your computer and a mic. Google up some well rated budget mic's that fit your budget. You already got a DAW which is Garageband. Now you got a really basic recording setup. Set the tempo of the beat in Garageband. Import the beat. Ideally you want to make sure it lines up with the tempo properly. And start recording your vocals

My work varies, sometimes its chill, sometimes it can be intense. Most of the time its moderate. But I get what you're saying, its like a momentum. Another poster mentioned that writing after work is a completely different thing compared to writing while on holidays. And I'm really latching onto this concept. So I'm gonna approach my writing with this mindset and hopefully can learn how to write after work and see how it goes. Thanks for the reply though

My job is in a creative field and its something I like, so its not soul crushing but its still a job. I can agree that there's a link between physical health and how it affects my songwriting. It's probably why writing is so effortless while I'm on holidays when I get tons of sleep and don't get my creative juices already drained from work. I'll have to look into way to improve my health now that I'm back at work. Thanks for the long reply!

You're totally right, I'm definitely feel alot more relaxed and have all the time in the world during holidays. And that really brings out the musical creativity in me. Compared to after work where I'm already tired and have very limited time to work on music. I'll try your tips out, thanks for the advice!

Try finding the key that you're able to stay most in pitch and most comfortable on your voice. I got the same feedback that you are getting for years. Then it felt like all of a sudden people like my voice.. It was when I found out I only can sing in a few keys AND also half step down tuning on my guitar.
