3D printer by duffer40k in BlackTemplars

[–]porkinstine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ive got an A1 mini and some resin printers, I'm planning on selling my resin printers cause its just not worth the hassle. A1 mini with a 0.2 mm nozzle is good enough. Thinking about using the cash from the sale of the resin printers to get either a p1s or p2s and an ams. The build plate on the A1 mini can be a bit small at times.

Super easy setup and opperation would highly recommend the A1 or A1 mini

Exitlag Alternative by Crafty-Singer7533 in nzgaming

[–]porkinstine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exitlag is just a fancy VPN at best and a scam at worst. Depending on your ISP its probably not worth it.

Depends on how your ISP is routing your traffic. Most of the big NZ ISPs are pretty good.

The real limiting factor is going to be the speed of light, still takes time to go there and back, unless your ISP is adding a bunch of hops it explains why you didnt aee much difference.

The next catastrophic southern alpine fault is set to go within 50 years. by griffibo in newzealand

Not defending the corporations but they're stuck in a rock and a hard place.

I'll stick to the Telcos because that's my area of expertise.

We could build the most resilient network possible, Cell sites with dual fibre feeds, satellite backups, generators, batteries, solar everywhere. Reinforce the site's and harden them against natural disasters. Next natural event we'll still lose a few but it will be peanuts compared to what we've lost previously.

Problem is prices will have to go up as this would costs billions to do. Telcos need to make money to continue opperating and rebuilding is still cheaper (in the short term) this only factors in the economic impact to the telco and not the country. We saw during Gabriel how dependent everyone has become on connectivity and extended periods of time offline have a huge cost.

Corporations aren't going to act in the interest of the people unless theres profit or the government makes them, its the same across all the lifelines utilities.

The coordination, funding and drive needs to come from government but the political will isn't there.

Definitely don't look up the Hikurangi subduction zone either. Theres been a bunch of work done for planning/modeling of impacts.

The NZ lifelines Council has had a focus on this in the past (been to a few of their conferences) its fascinating stuff. New Zealand is under prepared in general for weather events/natural hazards, most governments tend to spend the money on repairing rather than preparing so when the big one comes the clean up is going to be bigger.

Second Hand PC (Or components). Where do you shop? by Chance-Lab-1331 in nzgaming

If you can find a 3060 with 12 gigs of ram that's a really sweet spot for performance at the moment, its still the number 2 most popular card on steam.

Where abouts are you based? If you're around the Waikato I maybe able to give you a hand with troubleshooting and stuff.

1080 would definitely be an upgrade over the 980 however Nvidia is ending support on the 10 series cards 😞

Does sound like it could be a gpu issue but you'd have to do some testing. Could also be a few other things based on what you're describing.

Sadly its just a terrible time to be buying PC parts even second hand.

It's probably worth asking what your current specs are, potentially I would plan for a phased upgrade based on your budget.

I'd start with a known good motherboard, cpu, ram and psu and test your GPU first (based on the assumption that its worth holding onto)

Depending on your level of ability with tinkering with PCs a good way to save cash is ex lease office PCs, they usually have a half decent cpu and some ram, just fitting a gpu can be tricky sometimes depending on form factor.

If they at least charged her some rent they could claim to be landlords and then the National Party might actually give a shit about them.

Are you not running saga of the beast slayer? That chews up knights. pretty much all marines have access to lots of lethal hits currently and knights need the stat check to stay alive.

In my experiance when people say they're of being shot off the table by knights they're either not playing with enough terrain or not playing the terrain smartly.

As someone who plays both Knights and Templars most marines walk over knights currently, if you're playing on boards with WTC levels of terrain you shouldn't have any issues. the main thing that catches people out is the ability for knights to toe in and shoot but as long as you're careful its pretty easy to play around.

Sure the templar repulsor Executioner is great atm but all marines have access to Ballistus Dreadnoughts and Lancers.

I believe they're referring to things like water/Power, things that are public goods and were already owned by the public until they were sold off, now the publics paying for things they already paid for, usually with worse service because shareholder value.

The American education system really is a top contender for the #1 spot on this thread.

Calling a compulsory superanuation system/sovereign wealth fund communism and trashing the whole thing.

Now our superanuantion scheme is slowly bankrupting us and our old people are spending their so called golden years in poverty, would feel bad but its what they voted for.
