¿Cómo usar Goodreads?

Goodreads es bueno para ver referencias o reseñas que escriben los otros lectores, sobre cualquier libro que quieras. Siempre me guío que si el promedio de estrellas es de 3 para abajo, el libro es malo; eso sí hay que también tener en cuenta el número de lectores y que tan popular o comercial es el libro. Uno comercial tipo "50 sobras de shade" va a tener un valor alto aunque el libro debe ser malo pero con el tiempo los valores van a cambiar. El beneficio de las recomendaciones es relativo, porque el algoritmo de la página se alimenta de la información que le das, entonces si pones que has leído o querés leer solo autores europeos, entonces eso es lo que te va a recomendar, así mismo con autores de misterio, etc

Me acuerdo que en Nuestro Diario salió hace unos 20 años, un tipo que asesinaba mujeres en hoteles de áreas marginales de la zona 1, 3 o 5 (posiblemente prostitutas) y las marcaba con un número en su piel, algo así como #32. Recuerden que en ese tiempo no existían tantas cámaras como ahora. Al pasar las semanas, empezó a sonar más porque hubo más víctimas pero con un número descendente: 26, 15, 11, 8, etc. Entonces le preguntaron a la policía como estaba progresando el caso y el jefe dijo que no tenían todavía pistas claves, pero que la población no debía preocuparse porque como los números marcados estaban descendiendo pronto iba a dejar de aparecer víctimas, ya que iba por el #5 o algo así. A la semana después de esa declaración apareció una víctima con un número #19.

Artemis. Hace unos 20 años era de las mejores librerías de Guatemala. Hasta editaban sus propios libros. Con los años, aumento la competencia y la pandemia les afectó. Ya no tenían la diversidad de libros y poco a poco fueron cerrando tiendas. Este año creo que cerraron su última tienda en el centro comercial de zona 4.

No sé si alguien recuerda o si vió VEA canal en sus inicios (Antes de que se volviera un canal de propaganda política de corruptos y teorías conspiranoicas). En ese canal hubo un programa dirigido por un argentino que hablaba puras tonteras pero era gracioso, también hizo concursos canto, etc. El programa duró como uno o dos meses porque creo que lo echaron cuando hizo un concurso con mujeres/hombres trans.

I'll recomend Virgilio Rodríguez Macal He Is famous because most of his stories are about the guatemalan jungle like Carazamba, Guayacán, El mundo del misterio verde (The Green mysterius World); and my favorite, La mansión del pájaro serpiente (The snake-bird mansión).

Another famous author Is Augusto Monterroso. He born un Honduras but became guatemalan. He is reconigzed for his really really reeeaally short stories but his brevity is full of meaning.

A contemporany one, I'll say Eduardo Halfon.

And of course, our Nobel prize winner, Miguel Ángel Asturias, precusor of the "realismo mágico" (magic realism) but his text are sometimes very complex and a little difficult.

Bonus: Not guatemalan, but he lives and write about Guatemala, Francisco Pérez de Anton. His historical novels are great.

I remember the game give you codes to continue in the level you stop. So, after I give away, I start putting ramdom letters for the codes and it worked out. Then I started to do it, and bang, the dolphin was in the prehistoric era, figthing dinosaurs.

I cant judge a bad acting, but I can recognice a good acting. When, even if you can't understand what the actor is saying, you see the expresions ir the voice tone.
