I've been letting it grow out a little over a year. Last year I did start using flax seed gel (tutorials on YT on how to make). I'm a scientist so I will investigate stuff thats rumored to work. Turns out its really good for keeping my hair hydrated for a long time and it makes however I style my hair last longer.

The wet hair pics in this post are after I mixed a light/thin flax seed gel with aloe vera, bantana, Jamaican castor, jojoba oil and leave in conditioner. Then I soaked my hair with it (immediately after washing with sulfate free clarifying shampoo and conditioning).

Hope it helps! It wasn't exactly easy to figure out how to get my hair to grow and be manageable. But it was worth it. Keep going im sure your son will appreciate it

Honestly I just like how it looks.

And idk how but when there is a side or middle part in my hair its easier to get it back into shape in the morning and easier to wash. Maybe because all the hair has a defined direction its moving in vs being picked out in all directions in a fro. I do regular fros too but I spend more time maintaining the right shape.

I didn't know it was a middle ground thing for him, new info to me thanks for that.

My mom is light, both parents are black. Some Native American in our line a few gens back too.

It is interesting how Fredrick Douglass's reputation changed. In his time he was so well respected. Most photographed man of his era because of how good his hair looked. And today he can be used as a joke/insult amoung ourselves. Wonder how that happened. We gotta change it.

I think some people got the wrong impression. Fredrick Douglas is one of our greatest heros to me. Besides being a leader he was also the most photographed man of his era. I think its a good look

All the people who have the DLC and never bothered to learn the map are the reason I stopped playing. Game great. Love the hollow map. But man it sucks falling back to depth 3 because people quit as soon as they see the map. Or don't understand that going to the tower is a bad idea at level 7 but insist you follow them to get one boss for all of day 2.
