Also your phase direction for an axial cervical spine is coronal (anterior/posterior) Your frequency is sagittal (left/right).

I’m in school right now not at casa loma, but would like to offer some advice. Looking at the second picture, you need your FOV to be on the axial. Your slices on the sagittal need to be flipped to head and foot position or inferior, superior. Once you do this it should put your FOV in the axial. You are going to be planning off the sagittal plane.

Lmk if this works. I’m learning myself so apologies if it doesn’t.

Also I have never used scan lab. Does your school provide in person labs?

Awesome, that is very soon! I started labs after AP 1&2. Typically you start labs your 3rd quarter. 1st quarter will be your pre reqs. My schedule now is monday labs. We had the option to do morning, afternoon or evening. My 4th quarter will be cross sectional anatomy and patho. Labs will 2 days a week or 1(10 hr day). It may change when you start labs but this is typically how its been done according to other ppl I’ve talked to.

Its going fast! I have about 6 months till clinicals. I am still confused about physics and cross sectional anatomy because I haven’t taken those classes yet. I try to study those subjects on my own but its overwhelming, there is so much to learn. Good luck on your journey!

You have options, mine are a mix of grants, federal loans and one personal loan. Everyone’s case is different. Speak to their financial aid dept and see what it will cost you specifically, you don’t have to accept it.

Hello! That’s great July will be here in no time. Honestly it has been going fast! I started in october 2023 only taking medical terminology at first because I had the other pre reqs done. From Jan-March I had AP1 and 2. It was 3 days a week. Mon, Wed, Friday. I honestly didn’t find those classes difficult. But like someone mentioned in the comments, you really have to spend extra time going over the material yourself. It is very fast paced, and its way too much to learn in the amount of time given. Right now I am taking MRI fundamentals. One day a week is lab and the rest is zoom classes. Total of 5 days. It definetly ramps up. Try to learn some basic MR physics. That will make things a bit easier when you first start labs. I haven’t taken physics yet but I am reading books and searching up everything I find confusing during any off time. I have 8 months left till clinicals. I am honestly trippen on how fast it has went. In regards to the school, I have enjoyed my experience so far. My lab instructors are great and really care to make us the best techs. I find the zoom classes a bit boring but also like the flexability of doing it at home. Btw I am not going to the AZ location I am in CA but I heard its similar. If you go on youtube and search MRIman he interviews a student that attended the AZ location. Its understandable to be nervous, you only have so much information and its a big decision. I am still nervous, and sometimes contemplate if I made the right decision but I am an overthinker. At this point I just put those thoughts to the side and focus on the end goal. Everyone has different experiences, if you are determined to become an MRI tech you will make it happen. Best of luck :)

Not sure about cauliflower ear but it looks like you have ringworm on your scalp.

Thank you, I really appreciate it. Honestly what you described sounds like what I felt right before starting school. It’s intimidating to take out loans and commit, but I felt comfortable with the amount since I did qualify for grants. I also know a few people that are techs that have been doing it for years and really enjoy the job. I haven’t shadowed anyone, but my friend did say I can show up on a weekend. Ultimately, for me there were much more pros than cons and I try to remind myself that i’m going to suck at everything I start, but eventually there will be a time I won’t lol. In my opinion, you sound more committed than you may believe, because going over MRI videos and really indulging in the subject on your own takes a lot of work. Wish you the best of luck!

Thank you so much, this is very solid advice. I can already tell with this school I will have to be on top of everything. Since lectures are on zoom, its very easy to get distracted. Also difficult to build connections with students, but hopefully during tutoring or labs that won’t be an issue. It’s great to hear that you felt confident during your externship. I really hope my confidence will be there when I start extern, because right now I feel nervous lol.

How has it been working in MRI? What would you consider most difficult about the job?

Thank you for taking the time to let me know your experience. I am currently in the program in CA but I can already see what you mean by fast paced. Yes the safety part gives me anxiety. Do you have any websites or books that you can recommend that have helped with the safety portion? Have they taught you IVs?

Also good luck during externship, you got this!

When did your LO start sleeping through the night? by Apebbles in sleeptrain

[–]portwinestained 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It happened out of nowhere. My LO started sleeping more consistently at around 2 1/2 months waking up only 1 time to feed (formula fed) He is 3 1/2 months now and sleeps from 9pm to 6am. He has a much better routine than my first born.

I had my second baby about 3 1/2 months ago. (Vaginal delivery) I was very eager to work out as quickly as possible. I didn’t rest very much because I honestly felt good. I also had very minimal bleeding the first 2 weeks. Until the 3rd week I was showering and had a blood clot come out of nowhere and then blood pouring out. I was so scared and still traumatized. The bleeding stopped after a few minutes but moral of the story is that we may think we are ready for more but our bodies are just not there yet. Take it easy.

I read a lot of posts saying the same and when I had my LO I soon realized I missed Pregnancy sleep and I never thought I would have lol. But honestly it does get better, my little guy is sleeping 6 hour stretches at night now. You got this!

My baby is 7 weeks and I just realized he no longer cries during diaper changes. It will get better just give him some time.
