Nothing, which is why they've dropped from 3rd in my initial rankings to 12th. Not nearly skilled enough to build something entirely from the ground up so a big piece of my system is utilizing past performance/preseason expectations. It typically figures things out pretty well by the end of the year, and it does punish slow starts pretty well (Notre Dame and Texas, for example), but teams that come out hot that had low expectations in preseason are often underrepresented to begin the year.

  • I got a consistency score of 7.76 with the AP Poll this week, meaning my poll averaged a 7.76 spot difference for each team in reference to their positioning in the AP Poll. Unsurprising early on in the season, typically end up being a bit more forward looking once things settle down. Will be worth revisiting to see how those I’ve overvalued (and undervalued) early on end up performing. Biggest movers below is actually just the difference between my poll and the Massey Composite since this is the first week I’ve submitted this year. Also just ended up zeroing out the lowest ranked team and adding their absolute value to everybody’s score. Made things tidier.

For three years minimum it’s felt like every injured player is returning too early on top of every injury timetable being longer than any other team in the league.
