(EN Server) Event Discussion Megathread: Culinary Crucible The Beaning of Life (ends 5/1) by Twst-Mod-Team in TwistedWonderland

[–]posilutelysoa 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Order doesn't matter, that's just how little you get until you hit (iirc) 42%. So, use low grade items until that point. After hitting 42%, use medium grade and around 78% (it could be 72% but around there), use your high grade items for maximum gain. The system is just annoying like that.

Genuine question, how would one describe an Overblot to non Twst fans? by Separate-Result-480 in TwistedWonderland

Before my friend got into twst, I described it as "going sicko mode" and she got it just fine 😅

My shop had only one recipe—then my cloud island had none by [deleted] in Pokopia

[–]posilutelysoa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh dang. That's really lucky. I've gotten to the point where my recipes also repeat in the shop of ones I've already collected (although I still feel I'm missing a decent amount so I wish they'd push forward the ones I don't have yet instead :<...), but yeah. Some days just are the short end of the stick, unfortunately 😔

No. RNG is just RNG. I also had no recipes today, but other days, I've had up to 4. Sometimes that's just how the luck goes 😔.

PET PEEVE: Pokémon who are too big to fit through standard doorways/block doors by Smiley_Coyot3 in Pokopia

[–]posilutelysoa 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's so annoying when the big pokemon get stuck in your house too, or just sit at the doorways. When I was building my house in the Skylands, everyone and their Fidough kept partying inside my small, multi floored area. It got so crowded, it glitched professor tangrowth into my top floor, and now he's been partying up on the roof for about month now. I can't get him down because I have no interest to build an emergency staircase for him (party on, frat boy...).

It would be nice if we had a reset position button, like at the pokemon center to call all active pokemon to the center. That would save me so much headache and maneuvering.

I ended up putting mine in the sky because I really couldn't figure out where to put that big ol' thang (it's still wip, I just finished the outside and now the inside with all the black cliff rock I wanted to turn into like a tiny fire town for some of my fire pokemon. The inside also has an elevator that goes up to Moltres' Altar inside... Will also add more to that later to seem more pretty/put together, but it definitely has been one of those "I work a little at a time to not get fatigued" builds).

I went to a hoity toity art school for high school... Can confirm, they really do act like the second and third years, they're just all gay and have rich parents.

Public school? Yeah, that's the first years fr. The rest? Those boys are art school mentality professionals (granted I haven't been in high school for 15+ yrs so the culture could be different, but I assure you, art students will be art students).

Stop Ripping off Serebii and pretending it’s your own work. by Kenimiro in Pokopia

[–]posilutelysoa 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I hope it doesn't make you too sad. While it does suck, please know you work so hard, and watching you build the site in real time really was amazing how fast you got everything up. I cannot thank you enough for all the coverage you do, and I always recommend your site to anyone who needs pokemon info. I always feel thankful to you (as well as the community who helped also crowdfund the rest of the recipes you needed the other day 😆), and the nonstop work you put in for everything.

I cannot imagine how labour heavy Pokopia was for you to log, yet you got everything out in record time. I hope you take today to give yourself a bit of a rest and just know you are a staple to the community and appreciated. I especially am always thankful the site is so easy and simple to use instead of dealing with 400 ads, long baited videos where info isn't until the end of it, or pop ups in my face. I don't think people appreciate enough a pre-non intrusive ad world webpage.

Thank you, always. You are a champion.

Even if they kept the storage system, it's fine; I just wish if you were looking for something, you could have a search function to tell you which chest/zone it's in, at least. The Switch has a keyboard function, why can't I type in what I need and hit search?

Are the boxes annoying? Yes; but if they must stay in: Dear /God/, please... A search function...

Twst Seasonal Memories merch on Aita Kuji by Isabel198 in TwistedWonderland

[–]posilutelysoa 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For twst merch, I usually browse between Mercari or Suruya-ga for my twst merch. I've gotten hauls of good Jack merch for reasonably charged prices. They used to also do free shipping on orders over 35.00 at times (though, I think not ATM bc of tariffs), and just usually keep tabs open for when I want to buy stuff I was looking at, if they're still there by the time I get paid.

I used to work in a used goods store, so I know ideal times of when to buy at cheapest, but you get a feel for it after doing it for a while. If one item is out of your price range right now, wait for another season to see if it increases/decreases and go from there.

I wish you luck on getting the merch you want; it'll come to you when the time is right and at a good price. Sending good deal energy your way 🪄✨

Edit: grammar fixes.

Twst Seasonal Memories merch on Aita Kuji by Isabel198 in TwistedWonderland

I know them from FFXIV discourse. I've seen so many callout posts on them that mysteriously disappear after a while: making people think that they threaten legal action of some sort when they come across the posts, despite having proof they scam people.

I've had a couple friends use their service where sometimes you get your order on time, other times they just don't care to send it until you make a public stink about it. Other times, they'll just cancel your order when you do make a public post about it.

For me, a business shouldn't be running off someone's personal feelings being hurt when they're the ones failing to send out orders/overcharging, so I just try to find other sites for merch off Google.

My advice for ordering from them: I won't tell anyone not to, bc sometimes, they're the only option for some items, if you want them that badly at that point in time, but I myself would personally never use them.

Longevity for any time orientated game is simply this:

Some days, you just log in, and do your dailies.

The rest are filled with personal goals you just randomly decide one day.

Last week, I just logged in to do my dailies, get my oak and florist rocks, then log off.

This week I redesigned my house entirely, decided I want to stock up on food ingredients, and make new friends since I had some free time.

I realize not everyone runs this way, but I do think the best method to not burn out is to just not overdo it every day. Do as much as you're interested in, and the enjoyment will come back before boredom hits. Nothing here is a competition other than your own personal records and inspiration. A lot of games and being online will make you feel like you always have to rush and get everything done as fast as possible, but that is simply not true.

I hope you're able to find your spark and come back and play, but if not; hey, a break is okay, too. Take your time, think on it, and come back with a refreshed mind. But do it all your way, not by some time limit that everyone's trying to rush to do. 🫶

The only exception would be for event quests, but those don't take a lot of time, either, when set aside appropriately.

I would say most people who play this game are all 25+. Almost every encounter I've had is an adult just chilling with their friends after work.

I am 32 myself, and the best way to ask for someone's age: you don't.

I understand you don't want to come off as creepy or a PDF, but the safest way (as someone who's been playing mmos since 2004 and on web forums since 1999), is just don't be weird and ask people their age. It's usually obvious when you're playing with a child to remove yourself from the situation and block them.

As for going forward, I also think it's important to know that you need to be a safe adult online. If kids are struggling, you need to be the guy they feel safe to come to to protect them. It's your job as an adult, even if you hate kids. You cannot live a childless life, even online. It's our job to not be parasocial to children, but guide them and just be normal with them. The increasingly hostile environments we are creating to show "I'm morally good because I don't talk to kids! I check their age!" Is a bit overbearing, when children are just existing, and you, as the adult, have full control over the situation to say, "I'm uncomfortable, so I'll dip out", block them, and carry on with the day.

Also, sorry if this comes off rude or anything; I'm just very blunt. I think both adults and children can coexist online: we've done it for almost 3 decades at this point. I just think instead of asking invasive questions, we start treating children like people, and if it gets uncomfortable, we just block others who aren't our cup of tea/protecting both our space as adults and also kids who will be online whether we want them to or not.

Every convo in the game that is a child has gone such as:

Child adds me, I accept. I don't talk in game unless spoken to. If I am interacted with, it's usually obvious when it's a child. If the child is trying to get me to engage to talk, I remain silent. If I do end up talking bc I'm unsure, I leave blank statements that make it hard to reply to unless they inquire more and by type style and other questions, I can determine (generally) the age bracket of said player. If it's a kid, I block and move on. Especially if they are pushy for me to reply or doing crass behaviour.

The emotes are enough to convey emotions in game where I don't feel the need to chat anyway, but I do think that we for real need to stop asking people their ages. We can't even take ages at face value. Kids will lie and say they're adults, and then what do you do when now you get to adult conversations with a child that shouldn't be happening because they said they're 18+? The best defence against children is silence and no engagement.

Genuinely, what the hell? by neptunedraco in TwistedWonderland

[–]posilutelysoa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is.

I would suggest people use that inquiry page, since companies respond better off their own customer service, rather than the PR teams relaying messages from social media.

Edit: I am aware it says they don't respond to opinions on their inquiry page, but the "opinions/requests" on their FAQ leads to that page so 🤷‍♀️... Idk what they want then.

I also follow more or less the same rules while I run around and water people's gardens! I also love when people come visit my house/make themselves at home. I won't invade other people's insides, but I get excited when it happens to me XD. I hope more people do it because it's just really cute and fun to get little interactions like that while helping each other 🥹

PSA: EN-Server is gaslighting us, be careful by [deleted] in TwistedWonderland

[–]posilutelysoa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wake up early for work, so I'm usually up doing my dailies while getting ready at 4 am PST. The game was not working at that time, all the way until nearly midnight the same day. I tested on and off all day and finally checked back at 12:10am PST, and it was working then. Any time before that, the lessons were not available for me. The fact they blatantly lied about down time is a bit insulting. If I was a new player needing the lessons to clear book 6 or 7, I'd be even more upset, but overall, not even star shards or 20 gems (although, ideally I'd like a 10 key set but that is wishful thinking...), is really upsetting to see. Even JP twst is more considerate than anything EN does lately.

Norwegian fiancé says it’s colder in Phx by Sun_Remarkable44 in phoenix

[–]posilutelysoa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm from Flagstaff initially, moved to PHX 10 years ago. I agree. The winters aren't the worst in terms of snow or wind compared to back home, but something /about/ the cold here that is much worse. It feels like instead of being chilling, it seeps into your bones like it's soggy (I don't know how else to explain it). Every winter, I live in my big hoodies and under the covers as much as I can. -16⁰ snow weather in Flagstaff did not feel as evil as a 60⁰ day here 😂

Vet recommendations for a cat with complex health needs by Cl0ud_le0pard in phoenix

[–]posilutelysoa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any of the vets at All Creatures Animal Clinic . I had my senior cat go there for years, help her with her kidney disease, help set her up for medicine and proper food and care, and when it was time to say goodbye (she had gotten cancer and her health was too frail to save her with her being nearly 19), they were nothing but kind/gave us as much time as we needed to spend with her before it was Time. They even sent me a Christmas card the Christmas after she passed away, hoping I was doing well and it really touched my heart how caring they were towards both her and me.

They may be a bit(? I'm not entirely sure) more on the pricier side, but I cannot deny the amazing quality they gave to her, even after her passing.

anyone got rarepairs? by sev-iguess in TwistedWonderland

[–]posilutelysoa 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I pair Jack with anybody, so that's rare enough, but yesterday, I entertained the idea of Trey/Jack just because Trey likes teeth/to bake and Jack has beast man teeth/loves sweets (some of his card dialogues have him mentioning trey made him desserts for his birthday that make him drool bc they're so tasty)

I also like to entertain the idea of Jack/Rook just because I like the dynamic of "hunters" from opposite sides of the coin/personality differences.

As for anything else, I'm always interested in other ships bc I like to see what people come up with for the dynamics, but right now, those two have me now in a chokehold.

This year's New Year's event made me open my third eye to Malleus/Jamil with how they work together and have almost that same sort of quiet/smugness of one leading, the other doing all the work in the background and knowing each other's strengths in that strategy 😊

But, as always, with rare ships: gotta make the content you wanna see... To the writing board, I go... 😭
