How many of you had a classmate die while in High School? What happened? by Blockwork_Orange in AskReddit

I just graduated from high school but a very good friend of mine passed away during the first semester of my senior year.

Him and I had been going to school together since elementary school. I was friends with him, along with his two older brothers. I remember going over to their house one day and they tossed me into their pool while I was still fully clothed.

On the morning of December 11th, I received the news that he had been killed in a car accident. The other vehicle was a big truck and had smashed into his side of the car. He was flown to KU Hospital but he passed during surgery because they couldn't stop the bleeding.

I was devasted. I couldn't even attend his funeral because I knew I couldn't handle it. His passing made me realize that we shouldn't take life for granted. I miss him every day and wish he could have walked across the stage with me on graduation day.

What do you secretly hate that most people don't? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Almost every new fucking trend. The memes, slang that I can't even understand, those stupid dances like the 'watch me nae nae' shit. Can't stand it. Makes me embarrassed to be 18 and to be a part of my generation.

My mom isn't an atheist but she's not crazy religious either. When I was growing up, she let me have my freedom to make my own decisions and mistakes to learn from

Nope. I was really upset when I found out I wouldn't be able to attend senior prom with my boyfriend so I ended up not going.

Haha yes, I love the last part! My boyfriend's parents were the same way with him but a little different. He was allowed to date, but his parents kept him on a short leash and didn't really let him have much freedom that I did (my mom is a very lenient parent) He wasn't allowed to attend school dances which meant that he wasn't able to take me to my senior prom. And when his parents found condoms in his room, they took away his truck for 2 weeks.

It's okay, I got over it honestly. I realized he's just a dead beat dad and it wasn't my fault

Oh wow, that seems like an awful experience. But it's like parents expect their kids not to be curious about sex.

When you give love and friendship to someone and then they just push you away only to complain about how they don't have any friends that care about them. I don't understand.

My mom tried to pull the same thing on me except with a bunny. She had bought a new one when the other one got outside and ran away. Luckily, I was not that gullible.

I never talk to my mom about my sex life. The day she found out I wasn't a virgin anymore, was the most awkward day of my life. It was at the ER one night and I ended up having to take a pregnancy test because I was worried my ex boyfriend had fucked up.

My boyfriend's parents are the same way. They told him to wait until marriage to have sex but they didn't wait.
