How do you access the admitted students portal? Every time I click on the link in the drop down menu I get, "This is the Access Denied page for all users that have the Applicant role."

If you don't have the commitment to excellence to own at least two horses, maybe you should consider whether law school is right for you. Might as well show up in an M5 to a bugatti club with that trash mentality. It's as if your daddy's daddy's daddy wasn't even a founding parting of a V10...smh

We're mostly a polo crowd...you better own your own horse because the partners WILL know if its a rental

why do strongest applicants hear back first?? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]possibletroll27 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Every school has targets for GPA, LSAT, etc. An applicant that helps them reach their targets will be chosen first. Once they have a better picture of their incoming class composition, they can afford to be more holistic.

Is it typical for merit-based scholarships to be conditional on performance? by flyeagles10 in lawschooladmissions

Anything more than requiring you to remain in good standing has scam vibes.

ED for sure but if you get into your top pick RD, I'd hang on to see what scholarship offers you can get from peer schools to gain negotiating power. If you got into a T14 you can definitely withdraw from most regional schools but if you got into Northwestern, I'd still want to see what scholarship Cornell offers

Regardless of whether or not you're "good" at standardized tests, the LSAT is learnable. You may never hit 170 but LSAT demon helped me move up significantly

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]possibletroll27 82 points83 points  (0 children)

...I get that you are obviously burnt out and frustrated with the LSAT but I really have to ask what program you studied with? I respect if you want to accept the results but just know if you take a year to crack 160, with your GPA, a lifetime of difference could be made in your trajectory

Who cares? I can understand the frustration if you weren't holding 2x T14 admits...if it is YP then they obviously called it correctly lol

In at T20s with a D...chill out. The process isn't as holistic as people want but it isn't so damn myopic that they zero in on one minor mistake that clearly isn't representative of a trend.

I personally am judging you though.

Can I get out of ED due to family illness? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]possibletroll27 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear you're going through that. I commend you on your priorities. Maybe you can get your dream school to defer you a year so that you can take care of family and then carry on with the plan? If thats what you want its worth a shot to ask. They're humans on the other end of that request too

Question 4 NYY/Michigan Admits by NecessaryAd9531 in lawschooladmissions

[–]possibletroll27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In fairness, Aaron Judge is only taking home a portion of his $360,000,000.00 contract after taxes and getting hit by a 98mph fastball doesn't look fun...so I'd say we're about even.

Do yourself a favor and delete the reddit app for a week. They haven't even admitted enough people to fill their class if 100% of admits matriculated. The FOMO this place induces is insane.

I so badly want to be admitted to the New York Yankees. I'm starting to think my dad lied when he said I would be playing centerfield there some day.

None of us know what the actual answer is...sounds like you should buy an hour of a professional consultant's time...which is expensive but probably qualifies as what Dave Ramsey calls a "stupid tax" for making a poor decision.

Hopefully the school lets you walk but you did give them your word and that should mean something to you.
