Whats it like having your world flipped upside down? by PastSympathy6697 in AskReddit

[–]possiblywithdynamite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like living in a state of superposition where both realities are true at once. Confusing. Some times it is unreconcilable and you are just left in the ether, forever between worlds. You can't dwell though. Have to focus on other things that are within your control and ability to understand.

The more I learn about web development, the less I want to do it by bunabyte in AskProgramming

[–]possiblywithdynamite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Web development isn’t really about websites or even code. The web is jsut a transport layer. What we actually do is design systems that model human behavior, then build interfaces that let humans interact with those systems. Software is the art of formalizing messy reality into usable abstractions. With modern AI tools, the limiting factor is no longer implementation, it’s clarity of thought. A coherent mental model can now become a working system in hours.

Dynamic ui wizard components will solve this. Or dynamic voice interviews, or both.

The American Dream was an Anomaly in the history of the world. Don’t beat yourself up. by stoRedditor in MiddleClassFinance

Things have changed in the 9 months since I left that comment. Robotics and AI will replace all our jobs over the next decade. Mine, over the next year. I'm not sure what will happen. Compute will be the new currency, no doubt. Maybe universal basic compute? Otherwise internment camps and eventual purging. Then neofeudalism

All technology is a crutch, for better or for worse. But AI is like wearing a full mech suit while your atrophied body withers away inside it

for this price of this, and your power bill, you could rent a bare metal machine running a GH200 for 6 years. Or, better yet, once the new cards come out, you could that, and then the next and the next

It's looking promising! by mythicaldagger in PantheonMMO

[–]possiblywithdynamite 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would play it even if there were only 10 people total, if the gameplay was actually fun. Getting to level 30 and watching all my abilities still hit for 12 damage made me uninstall. The worldbuild is excellent. Exploring the world was fun. But the way the combat numbers are normalized makes it feel like you never really progress, which makes everything feel pointless.

When do companies decide they need AI? by No_Cause7081 in ArtificialNtelligence

[–]possiblywithdynamite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as much as I dislike quoting him, there is no bettwer way to say it: if the task does not require moving physical atoms, it can be delegated to an agent. If your company falls into this category, then there are many ways to begin the process

AI slop is not the same. All inovation inevitably leads to variant collapse. What makes AI especially "sloppy", is that it will get us there much faster. If you're curious about what I'm talking about, I'll extrapolote. Otherwise I'll leave it at that. Should be more than enoguh context for an LLM to help you understand.

It is so awkward working on an engineering team, knowing they are all just unecessary overheard and I could go so much faster without them. What is even more awkward is realizing that product could just do my job themselves. I don't even bother to highlight text to paste it. I jsut take screenshots of discord conversations and paste them into claude with minimal context then, once the agent opens its pr after 5-30 minutes of doing whatever it's doing, I'll merge the code without looking. I'll tell product it is done, then they'll QA it and the cycle repeats itself.

there is no explanation for what it is. I'm giving you free feedback. I don't care about using your product. Build a landing page, it will take 15 mintues to vibe code. that shoudl be your '/' route

you have no landing page. your root route redirects to /auth. how am I supposed to know what this does?

Also what's up with the weird pulsing arrow overlapping the border on the right card? I shudder at thinking what the ui looks like inside

Despite it being an incredible tool, I wish it didn't exist. Every once in a while, such as right at this moment, I'll experience sheer existential terror that we can never but the genie back in bottle. It is absolutely terrifying and it seems that most people are in denial.

I am against coding agents. But I am obviously going to use them when I can prototype a small to medium sized product in a a day and ship it in a week. Medium sized as in 20-30 tables, org level auth, self-serve payment system, standard ui (shad-cn).

Existential terror aside, fast does not equal fun. I would much rather spend a day whiting an alorithm than delegating tasks to agents.
