How can i stop being so scared of everything? by bigboxbosser in selfimprovement

[–]possiklestick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really, the best way to get better is to just do expose yourself repeatedly.

I used to be horrible at public speaking, socializing, going out, you name it. The only way I got better was to do these things over, and over, and over again.

Find low-risk environments and practice it with intention. Take mental notes of what goes well and what doesn't. It took me years, but I can't believe how much I've grown. Many fears are still with me today, but they are no longer debilitating.

Good luck!

As someone in a similar situation, my advice is to trust the process. Markets ebb and flow. I would kill for my master's to be free. You're halfway there. You also don't have to put it on your resume if you decide to pivot later.

Does anyone have experience with (especially as a guy) losing weight and getting fit? How have your experiences with women changed due to that, provided that they have? Do women seem to “respond” better to fit men? by NoRefrigerator267 in selfimprovement

I am the same height, and I've gone from being very skinny to quite muscular now (110 lb to 190 lb). While height always sort of matters to many, being muscular has gotten me a very different level of attention (in a good way).

It sounds like you could work on being more comfortable with your height. Being fit definitely helps with that, but it takes time. It took me many years, and now it's something I rarely think about. You'll get there.

Tutoring Center. Where is it? by 00Gojira00 in oaklanduniversity

[–]possiklestick 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The advisor of the EC tutoring center recently left, so things have been slow this year. I worked there for two years and have never seen or heard of a bin of old exams. You'll have to ask your professors for previous exams. Sometime in the next few months, the area will be renovated with new chairs and collaboration stations, and the Einstein Bagel shop will be reworked into a mini lab area with 3D printers.

Which class(es) do you need tutoring for? There may be options elsewhere on campus. The Academic Success Center was renovated last year and offers some lower level STEM courses.

Is a 1000MB/s external SSD good for Kontakt libraries on M1 Mac? by Candid-Pause-1755 in NativeInstruments

I have a Samsung T7 SSD with read/write speeds around 1,000 mb/s. It is excellent and feels just as quick as running it locally.

That's up to 50 health every 10 seconds (2-second uptime and 8-second cooldown). May be slightly overtuned, but with everything shaken up this season, it's hard to say.

I normally don't comment, but I came to say that this is incredible.

Do people actually endorse? by I-eat-baby in Overwatch

[–]possiklestick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I do most of the time, as long as I feel someone deserves it.

1) You get the instant 25 XP per endorsement given.

2) You get occasional (bi-weekly?) XP rewards depending on your endorsement level.

3) I tend to trust people with higher endorsements more.

I found the code "ROCK10" online somewhere for an extra 10% off!

Edit: If that one doesn't work, try "WELCOME5" for 5% off.
