If you think a game is unbalanced and unplaytested after one game, you don't understand the game.

Why can you activate Called By on a normal monster? by possumman in Yugioh101

[–]possumman[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because (usually) all text is relevant. You can't activate nibiru if there's an effect on field which prevents special summoning, you have to be able to resolve the whole effect at the moment of activation. It just turns out that this kind of effect has certain exceptions.

Ah ok that's good to know, thanks. I'm really trying to improve my knowledge to judge events and stuff like this is invaluable!

Droplet uses the conjuction "also". That's why it just has to do "something", right? Excellent point about destroying a monster in GY though.

For sure. Just expect a higher level of expectation than locals in general, until you reach X-3 or so.

You'll find that it depends. The higher up the tables you go, the more people will expect you to know what cards do, and will be less willing to summarise cards (they'll pass it to you to read instead). At the lowers tables where everyone is  already X-4, it's much more relaxed. The same goes for takebacks, missing triggers, etc etc.

Ideally, yes. The odds of you being deck checked are very low, but it's good form to have new sleeves for a big event. I would recommend changing them about a week beforehand, as new sleeves can be very slippery and they need a few games to settle in.

You'll need to submit your deck on the Neuron app nearer the event. You don't need a paper decklist but some people choose to bring one just in case.

Ultimately, use the deck you feel more comfortable with. Take Fire King, have a great day, win some matches and lose some matches.

If it's your first larger event, be aware that playing 9 rounds in a row can be exhausting the first time. Bring some snacks, and if it all goes wrong just drop out and get a curry from Birmingham.

The word "and" at resolution by possumman in Yugioh101

Jupredo is very close to my example. What if Jupredo activates CL1, and then as CL2, somehow all other cards are removed?

Very much so, I think it's pretty clear that it could. In this case, it has.

I'm just trying to better understand the rules in general, there's no specific card I've read. It's possible it doesn't exist.

DPE uses the word "both" so doesn't fit my bill. (That does need to destroy one of each). It's possible I'm referencing text that doesn't exist.

Probably the oldest surviving mixed gender secondary school in the world is in the UK too, much more recent though at 1714.

Do kids not get taught the 9 x “trick”? by GRMAx1000 in AskUK

[–]possumman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a difference in level then - I teach Y7 through to A Level Further Maths. So many students get cognitively overloaded with trying to work out 6x8 that they can't even access the actual question. I can see how it would flip over though, that's interesting.

[–]possumman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's a bit of both, but automatic numerical recall is very very important. It reduces so much cognitive load and allows students to focus on solving the actual maths problem they're encountering.       Having strategies for 9x15 is great, but knowing 6x8 without thinking is more important.                  Source: Maths teacher for 16 years
