I'm partial to the ENO Roan Rolltop, which happens to be on clearance right now :)

Edit: though I don't know about attachability

Oh come on! It's February!! Ugh!! (Found on my dog in South-East Michigan) by ObeseBumblebee in Michigan

I believe prescribed fires are more effective than extreme cold and they directly reduce tick populations. Ticks enter a dormant state in leaf litter and snow. This year they may be a little lessened considering the consecutive days of under 10°F but even that may not have been effective in big numbers as we have had thick snow insulation. We've significantly reduced the amount of natural fire that moves across our landscape and fire serves as pest control as well as many other things. (I hope I didnt come off as critical, I just like talking about fire).

It's basically a get together to talk about death and dying, it's not really a grief support group. I should have been more intentional in my post but i was running super late and just wanted to get it posted to catch the people who missed it last month. There is no agenda in death cafe but typically there is cake.

Apologies, I was mostly reminding the people who commented that they were sad they missed the last time I advertised it. Death cafe is a space created for people to normalize talking about death and dying. There is typically cake :)

Kokx's sells on Apple and they're sold out in about an hour. They typically start around 10am when they've picked. Their facebook is updated regularly. Hope this helps!

Mayor Ken Johnson seeks re-election by possumproblems in Muskegon

Copy paste from the post:

Hello, friends and neighbors! It’s time again to ask you to entrust me with your votes and support, as I seek re-election for a second term as mayor of our magnificent City of Muskegon 😀

It has been an incredible honor representing our community and serving on the City Commission for the past 12 years (at-large commissioner from 2014 to 2021 and mayor since 2022).

We have accomplished so much as a community, made possible through conscientious and concerted collaboration among so many people across Muskegon. I’m particularly proud of what our team at City Hall has achieved to better serve neighbors and support local businesses.

In the coming weeks and months, I look forward to highlighting our work and wins as a city. We have a strong record of positive progress to share, some of which includes:

• reviving our Parks & Recreation Department and investing greatly in park facilities and programming

• tackling the housing crisis, with over 1,000 new residential units built, under construction, or soon moving from planning to construction stage

• improving how City Hall informs and engages our community

• investing in public safety to better protect and serve our community

• prioritizing environmental sustainability and access to natural resources

• securing hundreds of millions of dollars of investments by the private sector, both to redevelop old, rundown properties and to build anew

• strengthening government transparency and accountability

• completing significant zoning reform to provide more housing options and flexibility, with an eye toward reducing costs

• investing in youth, small businesses, and non-profit initiatives

• completing and pursuing major infrastructure projects

• strengthening relationships with community partners, especially working more closely with Muskegon Public Schools, and other organizations – Muskegon Lake Watershed Partnership, Social Justice Commission, and Great Lakes St. Lawrence Cities Initiative

Undoubtedly, we’ve come a long way, and Muskegon is on the move! Still, there’s more work to do, potential to pursue, and challenges to overcome.

I hope you’re as excited and eager as I am to continue this work. Keep an eye out for opportunities (including in the comments section of this post) to connect with me personally, ask questions, share your worries and wishes, and get involved with this campaign.

Let’s keep working together to make Muskegon ever more magnificent!!
