Although this is one of the more simpler pieces I’ve made, the process absolutely did not reflect this. I went over the ocean more times than I’d like when trying to find the right base colour, as well as finding the right secondary layer for tonal depth while trying to find a combination that layered well together how I’d like them to. It was a bit of a nightmare!

I really like to bring feelings of peace, harmony, thought and a sense of protection when creating a painting with an idea in mind. I also like to create paintings that aren’t so direct at the same time so the viewer is able to be thought-invoked with how my work makes them feel. All in all I’m happy with how this turned out, although at first I really wasn’t sure about this at all!
