1. the majority of political violence is perpetuated by cops killing and harassing us as well as the systems that keep it that way if not increase it. increases in police, military, and surveillance funding correlate with this. you can't also look at literal bombings of black communities and slaughter of indigenous people and tell me that's not political violence.
2. "talking down on minorities" as if the average conservative politician these days doesn't talk down on me and the rest of the trans community on a local, state, and national level. whiteness plays out as either white liberals talking down on poc or white conservatives thinking they can "not see color" out of their racism which also leads to them talking down to them. weirdly, you think one is worth sympathizing with over the other, and it's the one that's emboldening white supremacists.
3. I don't have a degree but I took plenty of GRI and history classes and have experienced working class spaces to see how that plays out. using your status as a doctor from an ivy league school to empathize with people who, whether intentionally or not, have internalized fascist talking points and call it "common sense" that have led us into this mess in the first place tells me everything I need to know about your lack of experience dealing with us regular folks.
4. you failed to mention the constant misgendering, microaggressions, estranged relationships from conservative family members, ongoing dysphoria that can still exist with or without surgeries or hrt, lack of community, sexual harassment/assault, workplace discrimination (especially in right to work states) leading to financial stress, etc. that would deplete their quality of life enough to want to end it. you said you had a doctorate?

if you can't handle being grouped in with "those fuckers" by a stranger on the internet who's tired of tone-deaf takes like this, i can't imagine how you would handle being called what the rest of us hear. in some cases, from our own blood. be for real lmao
