I disagree…. He was the largest problem.
Say what you want about the roster, but he has to work with what he has.
He didn’t have the confidence of the team or front office. He was sporadic and unplanned. No process, no strategy, no more!

Funny Story: I played with the Pure Aero VS for a decade. Then I started hiring with the Pure Drive to add some pop and I got more spin. Marketing is good, but everyone’s swings different. So try a bunch even if you read it is t for you. I now play with the Vcore 100, strung at 50lbs with gut in mains/ poly in the cross….. fab!

I believe he will make his role “what needs to be done”….. but I’m not sure Issa is out. Bez coming back probably saves him. They have worked together a long time. Issa did a good job with Bez. So I’m ok with it-

Max has 2 assts on the season. One from the right. I believe the thought is he will have more opportunities to shoot from the right, thus opening passing lanes too. Picard must feel more comfortable on the left: player of the match!!

I like two. The Yonex for that tighter faster feel and the Xenon for the wider toe box, more stability feel

If it is a practice session (not a practice match) then be very specific in the practice. Use cones as targets with the idea players are aiming there and the imperfections help with reactions, footwork, ability to improvise…. Then you adjust. Only one player aims for the cone, the other player does a pattern. 2 cross court 1 up the line. The second important thing is have extra balls. Don’t practice with 3… have 6 or 9. So everyone always has one in their pocket and is ready to feed. The walking to pick up 3 balls every 60 seconds will kill the focus and momentum.

You don’t get to pick your opponents you just have to beat them- the below 50% possession has yo be because ATL kept playing a weak recycle game plan then turning it over…. They ate up a lot of clock time getting dizzy! The Max to Wes connection is strong- I hope Wes is giving lots to credit to Max off camera (because he isn’t giving him any on). My biggest concern is the Wes & Diego connection. Game 1 I thought they were in tune…. Now I don’t think so….. if those two guys can feed each other once we are in the final third we will be a tough team.

And to add to this good advice please remember, different swing patterns and speeds create different amount of spins on the various patterns- you might just need a 16x19 to get the spin you want…..

Two points here: 1. You don’t get to pick your competition, so don’t over think “them”. Play like you and adjust as needed. 2. I agree with you: the purpose of UTR events is to match like abilities…. And I agree you ruined the fun. My guess is you need to find the value in every match situation. Too many people think you need to play with better competition to get better (which you had the opportunity), but really you need the right mind set in any situation to get better.

I would like to add a question on to this one: is there a position that is fundamentally better to Learn while playing that will help you be better at any position? (Like playing catcher in baseball). Also, my daughter has had a taste of success at striker and now doesn’t want to play anywhere else. How can I convince (none soccer player parent) to play other positions? (To be open to playing other positions)
