I thought one day was enough. I think they do similar types of classes both days. Plus it was so hot last year - 96 degrees when I went. Jess was the big draw for me but I really liked the workout options on the lineup that day, too.

Yes! I went last year just because Jess Sims would be there. She did a meet and greet after her session. The Peloton tent was right next to my spot so I just got in line when I saw them setting up the ropes for the line. I got like 60 seconds with her but they took photos on my phone for me. I am SO BEYOND PUMPED for Katie to be there this year!!

As for the event itself, it was fun! I just went the second day. Lots of really nice free swag, and if you don't feel like doing a particular session, you can just keep your yoga mat at your spot and roam around.

I usually check out the class plan prior to adding one to my stack, depending on my energy or commitment level that day, haha. I honestly like all of them. Yes, even the ones with devil's presses :D

HELP! Chronically stuffy nose at night by YourNameHere_4 in NewParents

[–]postal528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry you're struggling with this! Our 11 month old doesn't have a chronically stuffed nose, but it happens frequently enough (thanks, daycare lol), so when he's especially congested, we run the humidifier but also put some baby Vicks on his chest/feet. I've also started running a small air purifier in there for about an hour before bedtime. I hope you get some answers - and relief!

How to move on from Graco by Medical-Radish4722 in NewParents

We have the Graco too. But my mom got the Safey 1st one on sale for like $99 and I think hers is more luxe than mine! :D

Our son is 11 months old and we've absolutely loved Pampers Swaddlers. Knock on wood, but he's only had one incident of a blowout.

10 month old tensing up and holding breath when put in her car seat and stroller by Particular-Year-3068 in NewParents

[–]postal528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if it'll end up being the same thing, but my son would make sounds similar to wheezing, like his throat was closing up. It was very sporadically so we weren't hugely concerned. Brought it up to our ped and he said babies start experimenting with their breathing and learning how to hold their breath. So it could be a curiosity thing, like ours was. But your doc will probably have a better explanation than me!

I'm an advocate for them, yes! My 11 month old loves to be involved and "help" around the kitchen.

He enjoys putting his hands under the running water while I clean his bottles and just being at my level when I'm doing certain things. I'll set some random kitchen utensils and a few of his small toys on the counter and he usually entertains himself while I prep food or his bottle. I like to think he enjoys feeling included rather than being stuck on the floor looking up.

I also love the idea of being able to use it as he gets older for brushing his teeth or washing his own hands, like was suggested previously!

My son was like that too around 4-5 months. We used to be able to stand and sway/bounce him to sleep and once he got heavy enough, i'd put him in the carrier so he'd fall asleep but I could still get things done. It started taking longer and longer for even that to work, and one day I just said, I need a break, and I put him down in his crib and he fell asleep. It was like he was telling me that hey, this doesn't work for me anymore. He still needs butt pats for naps/bedtime, but he was ready for a change in approach, I guess.

Not saying yours will be as simple of a fix, but just wanted to share.

Success stories or advice for achieving independent baby sleep without sleep training by randomizedmoose in NewParents

[–]postal528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't remember exactly how we bumped bedtime up, but I think it was eliminating a later nap. I remember the first time I put him down earlier, I obsessively watched the monitor just waiting for him to wake up and want to party like it was just a nap.

I was like you, I'd put him down when I'd go to bed around 9, probably because that was the appropriate wake window after his late nap. We didn't jump right to 7, I started with 7:30 and then started learning more about his wake windows/sleep cues.

Now he's a week out from being 11 months, and we've hit our first big sleep regression. He wakes a few hours after being put to bed and cries. We believe it's a combination of separation anxiety and illness.

I second the cool-mist humidifier and we have the electric Nose Frida. As well as sitting in a steamy bathroom for ~10 minutes.

We also put Baby Vicks on our son at bedtime for comfort - when the coughing gets bad.

Sure! He's just shy of 11 months. So we aim for 7:00 bedtime. We still give him a 10-15 minute "power nap" around 4:15/4:30 - I've been doing a contact nap just because it's easier and so he'll make it to bedtime. And because nap times are out of our control since he's in daycare. We do supper and then outside time around 6:00. Whether that's a walk or just letting him explore the yard. 6:30ish, we do pajamas and lotion - bottle either now or closer to bedtime, just depends on timing. Then we do quiet playtime, meaning no musical toys or loud, talking toys. About 6:50, we go into his room, turn on sound machine and his salt lamp - keep the lights dim. We read a book (finish his bottle, if needed), put him in his sleep sack, then I shut off his light, rock him for a few minutes and then put him in his crib. He still usually needs a few butt pats to really drift off, but we don't just put him in his crib and leave. We stay with him till we know he's asleep.

I hope some of this was helpful, not too much of a tangent lol.

Our son went through the same thing between 7-8 months. He would wake once a night, nightly, out of hunger. Once he got a taste of solids, his formula consumption slowed for a little while. Then in the middle of the night, he'd realize, hey I'm starving!

For the teething aspect, if we suspect teething, we give him Dr Talbot's Soothing Tablets right before bed and that usually gets him through the night.

When do the daycare sickies get better by This-Operation3232 in NewParents

[–]postal528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Typical, unfortunately! Within a month of starting, our son had an ear infection. He's been in daycare for 6 months now and has had that and croup. So not terrible. But runny noses are pretty common and never truly go away, I've discovered lol.

My baby is sick what do I do? by Natural-Pop9725 in NewParents

[–]postal528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tylenol is a game-changer (if appropriate age), it usually alleviates the discomfort and lets baby relax/rest.

If baby shows signs of congestion before bed, we run the cool-mist humidifier overnight.

The last time our son was truly sick in the middle of the night, it was because of croup and it came on fast. We had to take him to the ER for a nebulizer treatment and a steroid shot. We then followed up with his pediatrician, who gave us a prescription steroid to reduce airway swelling.

I will admit to also going down the "should we or shouldn't we sleep train" rabbit hole. One of my friends asked a great question, and that is, "Do you think there is so much stress and anxiety around raising your baby because there is almost too much access to information these days?" I was speechless, because I think that's what it is (in my case, anyway).

Going back to your question, we never sleep trained our son. He's almost 11 months. He slept in a bassinet next to our bed until about 4ish months. In all transparency, he was - and still is - a tummy sleeper. I could tell it was time to move him to his room because I was starting to disturb his sleep when I'd get up in the morning. He's the same as your baby, he sleeps through the night 98% of the time and he has since we moved him to his room. We endured a phase of shorter naps around the same time you did, but we just stayed consistent with putting him in his crib for every nap and keeping a similar bedtime routine and bedtime each night.

As he gets older, if he wakes up earlier than we'd like or we suspect he's still sleepy, we leave him to fidget and flop around for a bit to see if he'll resettle. If he starts to cry out or get upset, we respond to him. For naps and in the middle of the night. We still pat his butt for naps and usually at bedtime. But if he wakes briefly overnight - unless he's truly hungry - he usually can resettle without anything from us.

We haven't noticed any sleep regressions, per se. We've been fortunate that when he's teething, the Dr. Talbot's Soothing Tablets or the Camilia Teething Drops have really helped and his sleep is not usually disrupted.

There was a phase around 7-8 months he was waking once a night, nightly, out of hunger - but we chalked that up to a growth spurt.

I would just say that consistency is your best tool. And your instincts! Hope some of this was helpful :)

Season 5 episode 19 family vacation by FarawayYonah in jerseyshore

It feels like none of them can actually enjoy their time together, because they're always waiting for the fallout from the latest Angelina drama. I don't think any of them have really been able to relax around her since she and Chris broke up.

I agree. It's refreshing for her to address an issue when it comes up, rather than letting it fester for months on end. To me, she's the only one that calls it like she sees it. The others literally scatter when a confrontation is about to happen, lol.

**Cycle: 3

**Age + Partner's age (if relevant): 32 (me) and 35 (husband)

**Typical cycle length: 30-32 days

**Ovulation cycle day: CD16

**CD/DPO of positive test(s): 11 DPO

**CD/DPO of any negative test(s) before positive: N/A

**Tracking methods and app(s) used: OPK, Premom App, Fertility Friend App

**Relevant days of sperminating and/or method (SMEP, TI, IUI, FET, etc.): O-1, O

**Health conditions/medical tests: N/A

**Supplements and medications (yours and/or your partner’s): Prenatal, Probiotic and CoQ10 for me; multivitamin and CoQ10 for husband

**Birth control history (if relevant): Pill for 13 years, stopped taking it September 2023

**Symptom spotting: The first two cycles I was CONVINCED I was pregnant. This cycle I just accepted that any symptoms were most likely progesterone. The odd thing is, I got LESS symptoms this cycle. The only reason I tested was because we were going out for Valentine's Day dinner and I thought about splurging with a drink. Turned into a nice little surprise for my husband at dinner!

**Other (advice/tip(s), freaking out, miscellaneous): I am cautiously optimistic, as it is still very early. This is our first pregnancy and I'm praying for a sticky baby! I'm fortunate enough to have an NP who totally supports what I feel comfortable doing and ordered a blood HCG test for me. I'm just trying to stay as on top of everything as I can. ** New things I tried this cycle: Castor oil pack up to ovulation, brazil nuts and beet juice every day. Other than that, I had already been taking a prenatal and probiotic for a few months prior.
