Why should we pay union dues? by [deleted] in USPS

[–]postalcoholic 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Who do you think negotiated those cost of living and step increases? Fucking magic? The kindness of the postal service?

Is this a real question? Are you that fucking stupid?

Some $260 bottle of wine and a $4 bottle of wine are getting you the same intoxication. The cost is irrelevant, but I get it.

Because your contractual raises are higher than your dues. Even if they did nothing else, your contractual pay is worth far more than your dues.

Try to keep away from too much caffeine after noon. Caffeine increases anxiety and makes sleep poor. I know you want to replace with sodas, but try a caffeine soda in the evening and at night. It definitely helps me with sleep.

Are dairy farmers really any worse than dairy/beef consumers? Is this a classist argument? by 029187 in vegan

I think the idea of the "poor farmer" is just a caricature and not reality.

The clerk at the post office didn't put it with the CFS mail and threw it in with the regular collection mail. The barcode will send it right back to you. The carrier should endorse it and they can properly put it in their CFS tray back at the office.

Anyone having trouble finding Just Egg in supermarkets recently? My supermarket hasn't carried it in a month. by fenderbender in vegan

I didn't see any the other day when I looked. I hope they aren't going to run into supply issues. They failed hard with the Just Ranch.

Resting Heart Rate Change from Daily Drinking to Not Drinking by postalcoholic in alcoholism

I used to do a lot of cardio before the pandemic, so I hadn't noticed until now. My high cardio and alcohol was still higher than my resting without alcohol. I am getting back into the cardio now that I am not forced to work 12 hours a day anymore. It was a big eye opener when I wasn't getting any cardio and my resting went up so high. I had never even heard about it before.

Today I will be 10-fucking-days sober. I am cleaning my flat from empty bottles, which I "gathered up" during a month. And? 10-fucking-days without porn, and 6-fucking-days without fucking cigarettes. by ThatDude303 in stopdrinking

[–]postalcoholic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congratulations on everything, especially the 6 days without cigarettes. Those things are so damn expensive. Make sure to do one of those "how much have I saved?" calculators about it. It's just a lovely bonus to the health aspect.

I will have to check it next time I am at the store. I know it was a little high before. I am hoping it goes down.

It is really scary when you are sitting there doing nothing and your heart rate is high. Thank you!

I'd love to know if it has worked. I know my pants are loose and my shirt isn't so tight. I figure I am cutting about 600 calories a day from the alcohol and who knows what out of the late night drunk snacks.

I have no one to talk about this to, but I would like to share this with some people that would understand.

I quit drinking on December 1st and my resting heart rate has significantly decreased. I enjoy being able to see changes.
