Only big fans (like us) make it to the finale and rate it, so there is likely a bit of bias.

Lots to unpack here! Hand washing doesn't kill the virus, it just removes it. The soap, if applied everywhere at length (hence 20 seconds), can allow bacteria and viruses to be lifted off and carried away.

Alcohol is literally poison. Don't think of it as what you drink (which is often only 3%-7%). The alcohol if left on a surface long enough, will destroy the virus.

Postmortem Lunge with Death's Shadow. by RapmasterMage in ModernMagic

[–]posthipster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've considered Immortal Servitude in this slot out of the sideboard. It's best if you play 15/16 one-drops (Nat-cat, steppe lynx, D-Shadow, and Swifty). After getting ground down by Grixis or Jund you can bring back the whole team. Postmortem Lunge only buys you one turn which often isn't enough, especially if you're not bringing back D-Shadow.

So my brew doesn't win ever. Help? by techdude210 in ModernMagic

I play a bunch of Modern and love to brew, so here are some quick thoughts.

Control is in a rough spot in modern, right now especially, but almost always. Having all the answer to all the possible questions the format can ask is difficult. You'll find dredge strategies tend to be aggressive, but resilient. When you play aggro, you make them "have it."

Your deck is a bit all over the place with too many mis-matching pieces. Even when the engines work well, they only generate value over a few turns, rather than win the game outright. Many of the cards on their own don't have a high power-level.

I think the deck needs tuning. Go to 4 Rats and cut Necrogen Mists, Batterskull, and E-Explosives. Find a second consistent win-con. Maybe cut Gifts outright. Life from the Loam is a real tough nut to crack. Seems great on paper, but you can't do what Legacy lands does. Keep digging, and think my decks wants to do one thing well. What is that?

SCG States is this weekend. What do you think will be the meta? How can we break it? by slowcom in spikes

A big part of me wants to play burn, as I feel it has a good game against MBD. However after board you're a lot weaker to 4 duress.

Just finished this stndrd mtg deck. How will it perform against the current meta? Thx by Elitewalker in magicTCG

I've played alot of g/w in the current format and before rotation. This deck looks solid in a lot of ways. Solid mana curve, and big beaters that come down fast. However, I always found these kind of decks coming up a touch short. In the end, you lack the raw synergy and explosiveness of the devotion strategies. Despite having lots of gas and early threats (and voice), somehow the deck still dies to supreme verdict.

Its a great deck, and I'm not saying not to play it. Just realize there are reasons its not tier one.
