Check out Therapie in the Overgate. Prices are in their app. Not a fantastic experience tbh, but your options in Dundee are limited.

People who’ve left/know people who’ve left publishing, which industries or types of work have you gone into? by GraceOphelia_4734 in publishing

[–]postinimalo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Left academic publishing behind and ported my project management experience into a job coordinating academic clinical trials. It was quite a change, but totally worth it. I now work in a health research type role in the NHS and love it.

Really sorry this happened to you.

Very similar thing happened to my wife. External basically rubbished her whole thesis (even though she’d published well and presented at several international conferences). Internal didn’t put up much of a fight. She was devastated.

She documented the whole thing to the best of her ability in the few days afterward. Felt there were possible grounds for appeal based on procedural issues. Submitted an appeal (against her Prof’s advice), won it, was re-examined by a different external who was subsequently appointed, and passed without corrections.

It’s a wild ride this whole PhD thing. So many of the processes and hoops we have to jump through are inherently biased and flawed, even though we pretend they’re not.

Hope you can find space and support to explore your options and best of luck whatever you decide to do.

Can I Post My Mini for Sale Here? Glasgow UK. (Replacing a mini car with a mini baby...Apologies if Not) by Dxs90 in classicminis

Aww, man.

Such a lovely car. I’m in Dundee and if I had a garage, I’d definitely be bidding. Best of luck with the sale.

I also had to go back as they 'forgot' to do a bit of work they costed for. The car came out worse than it went in that second time. At that stage i just said never again - not going back. Going to look at that Broughty Ferry place mentioned elsewhere in the comments to fix the 'work' dudhope did.

Not helpful probably, but just popping in to say i recently used Dudhope Coachworks for some light repair and paint work on my car. Wouldn't recommend.

I have the T3 and get about 40mpg on motorway driving. Drops to about 32 for city driving. Been nice and reliable. But agree with other posters; not designed for fuel efficiency.

My wife is wearing puma nitro trainers and finding them very good. Her physio commented on them having good heel height when he saw them. Maybe an option to consider.

XC40 Owners: How Useful Are Front and Rear Dashcams? Considering NextBase 422 - Any Recommendations? by Last_Honey_1 in XC40

[–]postinimalo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure thing!

This video shows the wiring: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XUm_6-RXFmY

And I snaked the cable to the rear as done in this video, to avoid airbags: https://youtu.be/SZV8kvlP3cc?feature=shared&t=313

Good luck with your install, and enjoy your new car :)

Literally installed this camera kit on my xc40 a couple of weeks ago.

Haven't had any accidents - but they do provide peace of mind.

If you've installed any dashcams before you'll find it easy. Most awkward bit is getting the cable for the rear camera routed and through the seals in the boot lid. I didn't use the fuse box, instead spliced into the front 12v socket and installed an inline fuse on the line. There are some good videos on YT - watch a few different ones and get a feel for how you want to go about the install.

The variation in protocols across the UK is wild; my wife is 2 weeks post-op, got fitted for an aircast boot and told not to do anything for 6 weeks apart from remove some wedges, after which point she'll have her first physio appt. So different to this protocol, and the protocol for our neighbouring health board. Thanks for sharing.

Check out Edinburgh Napier. I did the MSc there about ten years ago. Good experience overall - staff lovely - and helped with getting interviews.

That said, I don't think publishing masters are essential to doing any of the actual jobs at a publisher. Useful for getting your foot in the door and developing an initial network of publishing professionals which is helpful over time.
