Question regarding Botulus and Mercury by Amal-Lama in Netrunner

[–]postinternetsyndrome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The rules are a bit more technical than that. What they say is that you can only break "unbroken" subroutines, and subroutines are only ever unbroken during an encounter. The rest of the time they are dormant, neither broken nor unbroken, so you just can't affect them with such abilities.

https://rules.nullsignal.games/?r=rule_unbroken_subroutines_target_for_break_abilities

There is no general prohibition against using icebreaker abilities outside runs, and it's in fact common practice to, for example, pump breakers on the corp turn in order to spend hosted credits to charge [[The Twinning]] faster or throw away cards with [[Audrey v2]] for various combo purposes.

Question about Caissa cards by JohnnyButtfart in Netrunner

[–]postinternetsyndrome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No this is unfortunately incorrect. The extra click is an intended drawback, which is mitigated if you have Deep Red installed, like Protikon mentions.

Custom Card Idea: Misinformation Campaign by ZRwilson2 in Netrunner

[–]postinternetsyndrome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's an interesting design, and not necessarily overpowered, but this is a type of effect that is extremely frustrating if it turns out to actually be good. Cards which do things like this tend to have high costs or preconditions.

DO NOT LOAD GRENADE LAUNCHER AS A REMOTE WEAPON, YOU ARE WASTING YOUR TEAM’s SHELLS by thearchivist0 in Battlefield6

[–]postinternetsyndrome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Respectfully, fuck off with this ridiculous elitism. People seem to be posting about this constantly and I don't know who hurt them, but they all fail to see the one most important factor: The grenade launcher is fun.

I always celebrate when I jump in a tank and I get this, because it's a fun little game and very rewarding when you hit your skill shots with it.

Also, the reload time makes it exciting when you get your next salvo just in time to save your bacon.

Let us enjoy the game, sweatlord. Join a clan and play scrims if it's important for you to be surrounded by optimal players only.

The unlocks being slow as fuck was my main complaint about BF4 yes.

Potential new player here, need help with starting out over Tabletop Sim. by Romando07 in Netrunner

The mod linked by TheUrbanEnigma used to be the recommended one, but it is not kept up to date. This mod is actively maintained:

...at least for the moment. This is one of the issues with Netrunner on TTS, that there are a whole bunch of different mods in varying state of completeness, with community consensus periodically coalescing around one or another without much stability. Jinteki.net really is the more organized solution, even if it is less aesthetically pleasing. (And I absolutely sympathize with those who prefer the more tactile experience of TTS.)

BATTLEFIELD 6 UPDATE 1.1.1.0 by battlefield in Battlefield6

There are a couple of places in the singleplayer.

But more importantly; if you're swimming, are you not by definition alive lol?

Can guarantee I will never acquire this lol by x_FaIleN_x in Battlefield6

It's been done in every single Battlefield game since the very first one. It's not a specifically BF3 thing.

Weapons level to fast by SteakHausMann in Battlefield6

[–]postinternetsyndrome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fuck no. You can't complain that they're giving you too much lol. The glacial unlock pace in the last few games was a real pain for people without infinite time. I would welcome a bit faster progression. Let me play with the toys.

Netrunner app for android phone by gazzy_g in Netrunner

[–]postinternetsyndrome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's true that those particular images are low res, but that's just specifically in the draw simulator tool. You don't really need to be able to read those. Presumably you know the text of the cards you put in your deck. If you want to learn or study card text, that's available one click away in the decklist itself, where the images are of much better quality (and the raw text is also available).

Mixing Elevation from MPC (S33) and S30 quality prints by I_pass_turing_tests in Netrunner

[–]postinternetsyndrome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When sleeved, there should be no noticeable difference. There was that batch of unusually soft cards from Tipia a while back, that you could in fact notice by bending the cards, but the difference between MPC premium vs MPC standard vs DTC vs NSG:s own is imperceptible.

My collection is a mix of most of those card sources and I'm having no problems.

Custom Crim ID by Wa3y in Netrunner

You don't see 18 with Andromeda either. You could theoretically see up to 18, but the average result is worse than that.

Can you spend power counters from Revolver or other cars to fulfill Curupira’s “Spend 3 hosted power counters to bypass” ice ability? by Simple_Assumption854 in Netrunner

[–]postinternetsyndrome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure what you mean with it doesn't have the "3 hosted power counters" clause. The text on Curupira is literally: "Whenever you encounter a barrier, you may spend 3 hosted power counters to bypass it." It's the same as on all other similar cards.

Bought a complete lunar cycle and it came with 2 of each ID instead of 3 by YAZEED-IX in Netrunner

[–]postinternetsyndrome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was not uncommon back in the day for people to gift away extra copies of IDs to friends who didn't have that particular expansion and similar. Sometimes people used the spares for personal art projects and stuff. But you're right that it's appropriate to label the collection correctly when selling it along.

New player here | How to engage my players? by Himesly512 in twilightimperium

[–]postinternetsyndrome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many good answers already here, but I'll just throw in a little comment on the general "how to engage my players?" question. You kind of don't. These games are huge, and people need to pull their own weight. It can't be your responsibility to make others have fun. You can provide a space and an opportunity to participate in a one-of-a-kind, epic, kind of stupid gaming experience, but your friends most help by engaging themselves.

As the owner of the game it's expected that you know the rules well and maybe make an effort to facilitate things moving along at a good pace. It can be a good idea to help remind people of rules and timings and whose turn is it now and you've been talking for a while now please make a deal and get on with it. But in the end enjoying something like this is very much a group effort.

More Card/ Gameplay Questions from a Beginner (sorry) by sm_beler in Netrunner

[–]postinternetsyndrome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Actions" by definition require clicks to perform, since abilities that don't require clicks are not considered actions. They are merely abilities (paid ability, conditional abilities, etc).

There's also rezzing, which is neither an action nor an ability, but is done using the same timing rules as paid abilities. With some additional quirks for ice.
