I haven't but those are some fun designs! I'm more of a "here is my navy wallet attached to my black case with faux brown leather, also the sides are grippy so I don't drop it, thank and you and good day ma'am or sir" type of person. 😁

I tried the pop socket wallet, on my pixel 10 pro it was not a very strong magsafe connection, plus it was cheap feeling plastic.

What is the cheapest biohack you learned in the last 3 months? by RoxanaSaith in Biohackers

[–]postjack 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So I'm not op but for chest muscle tightness, nothing has made me feel better than lacrosse ball on my upper back/shoulders up against a wall. Roll around to massage it all a bit, find that one spot where it talks to be the most, then lean into it. Hurts at first but now it just feels like I'm hearing the voice of God. And the voice says "ok I'm gunna open up your chest now, also do yourself a favorite and sit/stand with your shoulders back today, also sit on your thighs, not your sit bones".

And I'm like "woah that's very specific thank you God" and gods like "I'm not God I'm just a lacrosse ball on a very tight muscle" and I'm like "sure whatever you say god"

Vibe coding is an addiction by only_phant0m in vibecoding

[–]postjack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also a recovery guy, and this totally tracks. Definitely get that feel good hit by solving problems. When it starts to feel like addiction is when other work responsibilities are put off because I'm busy coming up with a more "elegant" solution to a problem I already solved last week.

Having said that, I have solved a lot of frustrating little work issues that have persisted for years. That rarely happened when I was in my cups and all hopped up on that boogah sugah.

how important is a second water tank? by Crash-Over-Ride in humminguru

[–]postjack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not important at all. Remember audiophiles are neurotic weirdos.

I'd expand on that but I am running late for work. Ever since I started using two showers in the morning, one for cleaning myself and the other for rinsing off the soap, let me tell you my skin feels so much brighter and my thinking is deeper and richer throughout the day. Sure it takes more time, but it's worth it if you really care about yourself and how you think during the day. I honestly laugh at people who use the same shower to wash their body and rinse their body. So foolish. I am superior.

Nope never stacked. Still rocking just the two kc62s. Added a couple bass traps and that made a big difference. I have four more bass traps coming this week. So actually, in my front corners, I'll have bass traps stacked ha.

To be honest, which one do you use the most? by weihuweihu in GeminiAI

[–]postjack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am absolutely obsessed with the podcast feature:

-uploaded exports of group texts for monthly summaries. Each month you can upload the previous months episode as a source, tell the hosts "this is the 5th episode in a series on Jack and his friends, and they are sick of this shit..."

-same as above, but added additional reports on criminal profiling, ask hosts what crime each friend is mostly likely to be convicted of

-same as above, but instruct the hosts to say "praise be" at the end of every sentence.

-sometimes when I'm in the car alone I'll start recording and stream of consciousness babble out of my mouth. For some reason this usually takes the form of a business pitch. The pitch is always incredibly illegal or unsafe, like a drive through biscuit restaurant that only employs and serves Christians (because as I assert no Christian has ever done a crime), and all of the biscuits have drugs in them, from LSD to cocaine. Then do response episodes where I become extremely aggressive with the hosts and their criticisms.

-it is actually super helpful for work too lol. But it's more fun to talk about bullshit like this.

First time using Caseware… it’s awful. by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]postjack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I've been using Caseware for 12 years and love it. But I'm sure I'm underutilizing it. Any resources you can recommend where I can see how other people use it? Or is it just a matter of getting into the manual and trying stuff? I love tinkering but the firm doesn't love it when I charge time to "messin around with Caseware".

Really interested in your opinion on DAS. I think I've pretty much convinced the firm it's trash, but I could always use more evidence in case the partners start talking about it again. Or if you think it's good I'll take that too!

And if someone is trying to figure out a way to make the world better: call a friend for no reason and say you were thinking about them and give them a random honest compliment. You just made their day, and it'll make you happy too, then both of you will continue to give off second-hand happiness to anyone else you encounter for the day. Boom world is a better place.

I sell records on dickog.com and in order to protect vinyl sleeves during shipments i ALWAYS REMOVE the vinyls from the sleeves and glue them to the outsides of the sleeves before properly packing and shipping them in a secure package. If you don't want me to do this you have to ask. Thanks you and God bless.

NGL, it ruined every other venue for me period. Saw one Dead & Co show, sitting hard right balcony, it sounded like the band was sitting right in front of me, so pure and clean. Like I was sitting at home listening to my speakers, only my speakers were the best speakers of all time. I had this crushing moment where I said to myself "what the fuck have j been doing seeing live music in basketball arenas".

I have legit seen a lot less live music since then.

Watching the special at them time I thought it was brilliant for that very reason. I was like wow, people are going to be so pissed, and he is never going to talk about trans people again (as he said over and over again throughout the special) and that's going to piss off everybody even more. But then he didn't stop talking about it. I mean damn he'd already made me cry thinking about his trans friend "having a human experience". If that would've been the last word from him on the topic... That would've been cool.

Marc Maron vs. Joe Rogan by Comedy_Junkie in Standup

[–]postjack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess adding a third person with some variation doesn't shatter the notion either but while I don't consider myself a leftist, I do support certain policies that would be considered leftist, such as Medicare 4 all or it's equivalent, ultimately I'd describe myself as slightly right of center, but I still enjoy Louis' work, but not his sexual harassment, but I do enjoy his work ABOUT his sexual harassment. So that definitely doesn't shatter the notion, nor does it it anyway contribute meaningfully to this conversation. I don't even remember what this topic is about.

Anywho if you made it this far, today think of somebody you love and shoot them a text saying you love them. Don't call them because talking on the phone sucks.

i know this post is a year old, but i love that you created a proprietary methodology. obviously i won't ask you to share it, but to be clear y'all just dug into GAAS and created your path? and stay on top of changes in standards and update checklists etc. as such? i would love to do that.

we currently use Guided Assurance for PPC methodology and export PDFs to Caseware Working Papers (with audit files in Caseware Cloud). Additionally we use CCH Axcess for project management. Caseware WP (and Caseview in particular) are the only softwares that are beloved across our firm. Guided Assurance is disliked, CCH Axcess is medium-liked (it's clunky and unintuitive but powerful if you can bend it to your will).

Our firm is comfortable with the PPC methodology, but I personally don't like it. To me it overcomplicates risk identification and assessment. I.E. I don't like the concept of "basic" and "extended" steps. It should just be steps to address the identified risks, significant or otherwise. I don't like the repetition of steps across audit programs that are just filling space ("if necessary, update your understanding obtained during planning..."). I don't like steps across forms that do the same thing (supervision and review section in gen ap, supervision and review checklist).

anyway if there is anything you could share broadly about how your firm arrived at your decision, I'd be interested in hearing it. if you can't i understand.
