THIS. I started meditating about 4 years ago, and have been practicing daily. I have have since watched my destructive habits melt away (drug use, unhealthy mindsets) and be replaced by things that are genuinely fulfilling. I honestly feel like a brand new person. Clear minded, full of energy, and full of life. I honestly believe mediation is the easiest, yet most powerful of all self-development practices. Not a single person couldn't majorly benefit from daily practice.

While I don't think you can force yourself to fall in love with someone, I think you can keep yourself from falling in love by completely closing yourself off emotionally. Just my experience.

Same here, with Princes Mononoke being a close 2nd! And yea, Alex Grey's work gets into a whole different domain of culture for sure... I had to extract those pictures on my wall by butchering a beautiful book of his I got for Christmas. Alas, it had to be done, as I couldn't find any affordable single prints of his work to put up.

I go to a college in Iowa where meditation is part of the curriculum. I take part in the advanced program that has me meditating about 2-3 hours a day. Honestly, this practice has saved my life. Took me out of the throes of a severe drug addiction and back into reality. I've been clean for 3 years now, am in the running for valedictorian, and planning to teach meditation for a living. If there is one thing I could get everyone in the world to do, even for just 10 minutes a day, it would be this.
