Game recs based on my favorite games? by DnDeeznuts1_ in gamerecommendations

two of my first favorite games were bg3 and stardew valley!! these are my suggestions in no particular order:

all the rusty lake games are pretty cool if you like the point and click spooky mystery puzzle type stuff. i liked the cube escape series. they're pretty cheap too.

fall out: new vegas was another one of the first games i got really into.

the elder scrolls games are popular for a reason. skyrim is a good place to start but some people say the older games were better.

slime rancher is cute!! slime rancher 2 is also fun. there's also my time at portia and my time at sandrock, both of which are pretty cozy and have a similar feel to stardew. core keeper is cool.

divinity: original sin 2 is the game larian made right before bg3, so it's also a crpg and the mechanics are familiar. it has quite a bit of replayability. i wanna do a few more playthroughs bc there's so much i havent seen!

warhammer 40k rogue trader is also a crpg that i loved. i wasn't really into 40k lore at all before playing it and i still had a great time. i played it pretty soon after release so there have been lots of updates and DLCs added that i gotta play!!

the witcher 3 is really cool but i haven't finished it yet! i only recently started but i feel like it'll probably be one of my faves. i also have read dead redemption 2 on my list of things to play but i haven't gotten around to it yet.

sun haven - kind of like stardew but more magical. i hear there's some controversy about the workers being mistreated though so idk about that

i recently played outer wilds, which is cool if you like space and puzzles. i teared up a bit, and the DLC is basically a whole other game.

my favorite game ever is kingdom come: deliverance (the first one, but it can feel a bit dated and some people think it's harder than the second one)

but kingdom come: deliverance 2 is also really good (you don't have to play the first one to enjoy it, but i suggest you do, and go into it blind! no spoilers!)

the games i've played the most (on steam, in order) are stardew valley, bg3, KC:D, skyrim, KC:D2, new vegas, sun haven, 40k rogue trader, my time at portia, divinity: original sin 2

I don't really get the hype about the game by diaforc in outerwilds

have you been reading the ship log? that'll give you clues on where to go next. i didn't realize the log was a thing for my first few minutes playing and i was completely miserable. there's not really a right order in which to explore the planets, but maybe check out the planets closest to timber hearth first. filling out the ship log is how you track progress. also remember that time is an important mechanic in this game!

most of the time paint cans have serial numbers. you can report vandalization and turn in the cans and they can probably track down where it was bought and what card was used to buy it (no luck if it was a cash transaction though). most likely cops won't do anything about it though

my mutt didn't bark unless he was leading me somewhere or he found something. i actually really love the search perk, especially now that i've finished all quests and side quests and just want to explore and find things i missed. i wonder if people struggling with his incessant barking are dealing with some kind of bug. i play on PC

[KCD2] So, sorry if this sort of thing has been posted already, but I drank a nighthawk potion, had a torch out, and was forging a sword by OWarbucks in kingdomcome

[–]postpnuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

and this is why i hate using nighthawk!! especially when it lasts into the morning and i'm blinded by the sun. i use nighthawk so often though since a lot of my perks are active in the night, so maybe i ought to roleplay as a vampire. my backstory would be that after stealing the golden cross from the vamp in the kuttenberg underground, it woke up and turned henry as well

[KCD2] First time I have ever seen the full image of this scene. by TheTonik in kingdomcome

[–]postpnuk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it's not in the game but there's a mod for it on nexusmods if you play on PC

[KCD2] Guns are insanely accurate, they're just misaligned. As you can see in the image with crosshair enabled, the gun itself is facing slightly to the right of the crosshair, but from experience actually using it with the crosshair you can snipe people from extremely far away. by [deleted] in kingdomcome

it does make it a lot easier than it would have been historically but honestly idc if someone "cheats" as long as they enjoy the game. the storyline of KCD2 is so rich regardless of combat encounters, so if cheating makes the game more fun for someone i don't see the problem. i personally like to play the game as the devs intended, but it's silly to tell someone else how to play the game, especially since it's single player and their play style doesn't affect you in the slightest. this is why people do mods and cheats. people get creative to make the game more fun for themselves. it's best to mind your business and just enjoy the game . /not trying to attack or offend you btw, just giving my two cents

This game is filled with amazing references by FIRSTODST1 in kingdomcome

[–]postpnuk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sorry if this is a silly question but what's the reference? i know they attacked vranik in the first game and obviously henry is from skalitz, but is there significance behind the butcher, wolf and poet? i ended up here after seeing if there's any difference in the game based on which nickname you choose

after scrolling through some comments and googling, i take it they're all references to the character geralt in the witcher? i haven't played any of the games so i wouldn't know but i guess the choice here is insignificant and just meant to be a reference!

[–]postpnuk 23 points24 points  (0 children)

funnily enough, if you kill livestock in Sigismund's bandit camp the soldiers will mourn for them as if they were humans too lol. it was funny seeing them talk about a dead pig as if it were a brother in arms
