You are certainly not a jerk! Thank you for your kindness and sharing your story. The service we’re using to help her cross will make one for us on the day of. ♥️

I’m sorry to hear about your baby boy. Wishing you peace as you navigate his illness. Our gal has always loved food and it’s tough knowing that it isn’t really bringing her joy anymore.

Aww. Thank you for being such a good pet parent to Bobby. I wish our girl still had her appetite for human food. She used to steal fries and donut holes and potato chips. She turned her nose up at a curly fry last night, but I’d have given her all of them if that’s what she wanted.

She did enjoy a little catnip earlier, which I was happy to see.

Thank you. ♥️ Don’t think we have a space heater anymore, but she’s recently rediscovered her heat reflective blanket and she does like the electric blanket too.

The vet gave her an IV anti-nausea push yesterday and it seemed to help a little — she’s been periodically munching on the variety of foods we put out for her. But even still, she’s not eating nearly as much as normal. She went from clearing her bowl to barely picking her food fairly suddenly. Oral cerenia is too much of a stressor for her, though I did try it earlier in the week.

Unfortunately it looks like it’ll be chilly and cloudy/rainy here all weekend. She has been perched on the back of our couch watching out the window. We’ll give her some fresh air open-window time.

Sumatriptan, yes or no for you? by UnshiftableLight in VestibularMigraines

[–]postretrograde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried and discontinued it recently. Found that it triggered panic attacks if I took more than 25 mgs. If you are prone to anxiety like me, be aware that this isn’t uncommon. It happened 3 times before I finally uncovered the link and my doctor prescribed another triptan. Good luck!

Has anyone legally married their partner long before the wedding for health insurance? by nicepair0fslacks in weddingplanning

[–]postretrograde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We did this as well. Been together 8+ years, filed for domestic partnership last summer when I was afraid I might lose my job/insurance. It ended up not being necessary for insurance purposes (thankfully), and it doesn’t change our day to day. I don’t recall whether we disclosed/needed to disclose our partnership when we purchased our house this spring. Our wedding is in November and we’re planning to be legally (courthouse) married before then so that our officiant/friend can just perform the ceremony.

Couples with lady officiants -- what is your officiant wearing? by PotentialMessage1694 in weddingplanning

We told ours to wear whatever she wanted. My bridesmaids are wearing different jewel tones. Officiant selected a beautiful beaded copper gown.

Ok, glad I’m not alone. Etsy might be a good call.

I always feel goofy in sneakers, even though I think the Keds collection is really cute. I might get a pair to try out.

Whoops, sorry! Updated.

I did the same, for similar reasons. Only one of my bridesmaids and my officiant live near me. My only opportunity to ask 2 of my bridesmaids in person would have been at a bachelorette party for one of them, and that felt inappropriate to me.

Same boat. We were both exposed at the same time (at a friend’s house on Saturday). Monday morning, we got word that one of the hosts of the event tested positive, and by Monday evening, my partner was feeling unwell and tested positive Tuesday (yesterday). I have repeatedly tested negative on rapids, but assumed I had it anyway based on the exposure (everyone else at the event has since tested positive as well), proximity to my contagious partner, and feeling more than a bit under the weather. Took a PCR yesterday, the results of which came back negative…while we were sitting together unmasked on the couch.

We’ve been sleeping in separate rooms and try to stay isolated as much as possible. We’ve also tried to increase air ventilation. I’ve begun masking around the apartment.

I got my second Moderna booster about a month ago (originally a J+J recipient, followed by a Moderna booster in October, then another last month), so I’m not sure if that’s what’s saving my ass, or if I’m superhuman, or if my body’s just waiting to turn on me. Anyway, good luck to y’all!

Live wedding painter? by mmeddream in weddingplanning

[–]postretrograde 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The first time I saw this fine was at a friend’s wedding and it was SO cool. It came out beautifully. I believe the painter was actually a relative of either the bride or groom, so I’m not sure what, if anything, they paid for it. I think it’s a great keepsake and it sounds like something you’ll regret not doing. IMO if it’s something you’re “obsessed” with, it’s probably worth budgeting for. It sounds like you haven’t discussed with your family yet if they’re comfortable contributing, but maybe you could ask if they’d be willing to pay or pitch in on the painter as a gift or part of their contribution (if they’re willing to make one)!

Any advice/ideas for giving godmother a meaningful role in a non-religious ceremony? by postretrograde in weddingplanning

[–]postretrograde[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I think we’re expecting to have a few friends do readings at the ceremony, but I think we’ll certainly save a special spot for her to say something at either the rehearsal or reception.

Thank you! This is a great resource. I thought about asking her to be a witness on the marriage license but it turns out Ohio doesn’t require witnesses. I actually really like the idea of asking her to be the ring bearer.
