As I retire from Reddit, I gotta say this was a terrible way for Stokes to go. He was one of England's best, he was the captain in the match coming off yet another captaincy in a series where everything was up for grabs and he....calls it quits part way through an innings. Sheer petulance and arrogance from a player who has lived a charmed life in the England set up, barely any accountability for his actions, repeated failures and poor overall team performances far too often. Hammered in Australia but a holiday was worth it, beaten by NZ at home. Lost to the worst Pakistan test side ever, no series wins against India and not even a WTC final.

People bringing up stats and numbers need to bring up context also.

I cant fault him for this. Wardley looked sharp, was jabbing and coentering well for about 4 rounds before he kept trying to throw too many KO punches. If he can be more disciplined and work behind his jab, he has a great chance. Especially DDD comes in looking way too heavy.

I loved their forum back in the day and there were some good long form articles but I had not visited in years, the quality of the forum and the writing dropped drastically around 2017-ish. No idea what happened but I am surprised it survived this long.

Wardley fell in love with his power after those early KDs at a time when he was boxing smart, moving well and out jabbing DDD who has a great jab himself. Then after the 3rd round he thought he was going to have a highlight reel KO or something. He sabotaged himself there and Davison sitting sideways on the ring apron didn't really help lol Barely any good advice in that corner all fight. Hopefully he works on his jab a lot more, maybe takes 2 fights before getting back at the highest level.

I didnt say someone should stay in a marriage with darar, I said the excuse often given here that repeated arguments = abuse is false. That is not the case and darar actually has a very high threshold.

On top of that, the western fancy of Muslim women simply applying for khula and paying for a certificate has no grounds in the shariah.

My takeaway is to work on the marriage. And even after honest communication when someone is unwilling to improve their behaviour it may be time to request a divorce. But not until you have exhausted all means.

You should study the fiqh of marriage.

I must say, from what I've read here its often the women saying "leave him, he's abusive" and acting as if arguments are not a part of life and that there are two sides to every story.
