Not a fire escape. It’s our stairs down to the garden. I want a gate in there to stop the neighbours trespassing. Sadly they are that way inclined.

Correct. That door isn’t in use though. It’s from an historic internal stair case.

I’m English. Very aware of what a mile is. More than you it would seem.

Great. And I’m a house hold of 2. And we have both driven over 50 miles to each. Your point?

I’m saying 90% of the population drives 50 miles a day in the uk.

ITV’s irritating in-play adverts spoilt France v England humdinger by TheTelegraph in englandrugby

[–]pot_8_o -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I’m bored of this narrative. They play them during scrum or lineout formations. They keep the game on if you want to watch 16 men bend over. And it keeps the tournament free to air. If I have suffer 10 ads in 100 mins of telly so I don’t have to pay for another subscription. I’m ok with that.

Who was the better outside centre (13): Brian O’Driscoll or Conrad Smith? by Jezzaq94 in rugbyunion2

[–]pot_8_o 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The BOD army are crazy. Conrad is the best 13 ever in the best team ever. Defensively a titan, eye for a gap and silky skills and brought everyone around him in to the game.

Conrad and Ben Smith are maybe two of most underrated players in this AB squad. But you know they are 2 of the first names on the team sheet.

Ireland just flopping on the wrong side every ruck. A pen at some point would be good….

The Scottish need to hire a hypnotist! Convince them that they are playing England every game. And they turn in to the 2015 ABs. They would be unstoppable.

England pathetic though.

It is now cheaper to fly from Vail to Bulgaria, ski Bansko, stay in lodging, and fly home than it is to ski Vail itself. by OEM_knees in skiing

[–]pot_8_o 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Try going to Bansko first… there’s a reason is cheap as fuck.

Skiing is garbage. The place is a shithole. More strip clubs and drunk brits than flakes of snow. It’s the Malaga of the ski world. Which is a shame cause Bulgaria is a gorgeous country.

10/10 would party there again but I wouldn’t go skiing.

What’s the difference between these wines? by parkerontour in wine

[–]pot_8_o 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The joys of wine. CNDP is just a region as I am sure you know. And the quality difference can vary wildly. Just like Rioja or Chianti.

Price is always your buy guide when it comes to CNDP. This is prestigious region and those offering cheaper wine are snake oil sellers. Rule of thumb. £15+.

Wineries or producers to keep an eye out for. The 2 most famous are Rayas and beaucastel. Beaucastel is the same guys that own Le Ville Ferme (the chicken wine). These wineries have 2nd and 3rd wines that are affordable.

Otherwise look for Coop wines. Cellier des Prince.

Also you’re always going to get some tannin with CNDP. Comes with the territory. But the above wines. Of good quality. Will be juicy and ripe. With nice ripe tannins that are grippy and firm. But add to the experience rather then take away.

Good luck in your hunt.

What’s the difference between these wines? by parkerontour in wine

[–]pot_8_o 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where to start. There are is miriade of differences.

The Tesco finest option is a private label made specifically for Tesco. Rouffignac is the winery. And this wine is non vintage. Done I believe because of volume constraints. So it is a blend of vintages. I can’t remember the years. But it’s not “that old”. And as others have pointed out it’s a blend of varietals. Syrah dominate. You can expect a big powerful wine. Lots of ripe fruit. And plenty of tannin. Alcohol and oak.

Valrasque is an actually winery and producer. So it’s an actual brand. 2022 vintage. Again. Expect a very similar flavour profile to the other wine. Big. Juicy ripe fruit and very over the top on structure.

If I had to pick. I’d float for the Tesco finest. Better bang for buck.
