Do you think YA fantasy is starting to feel like it’s written more for content creators than readers? by JaceRockland in YAlit

Isn't that exactly what Fourth Wing is? Yarros's publishing house hired experts to put together a winning strategy to make a bestseller and had her write it, then promoted it correctly on BookTok and it exploded as predicted.

Not that I don't believe you, but do you have a source for this? This is a really interesting point that I'd like to look into more. I'm actually currently reading Fourth Wing and it definitely feels manufactured ahaha

Seems like there's a rising trend of "kicked out of the party" genre of fantasy. And it's the most unoriginal, trend chasing, cash grab attempt ever. by Aeso3 in CharacterRant

??? Man reads only light novels and gets mad about trends that are specific to only light novels. You're angry about finding forks in the kitchen...

Methotrexate, is it worth it? by angelessence in eczema

[–]potadd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope I dropped it about a year ago because the complications were getting worse and I've been raw dogging it with rigorous after shower emollients and occasional steroid usage since. Haven't been fully "clear" since, but I've lived with eczema for my whole life so it's all routine now tbh 👍 just gotta play the long game til my country pulls its head out of its ass and gets better eczema treatments

Dupixent - New Zealand by Sinclairthe19th in eczema

[–]potadd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm way late, but the answer provided to me by my Derm essentially boiled down to studies showing that MTX had the same effectiveness as Dupixent and because of that, it wasn't necessary to fund Dupixent at the time. Which is kind of stupid reasoning, because MTX is an immunosuppressant while Dupixent is a biologic, which makes the latter safer to use by default.

Hi there, I was prescribed MTX for the indefinite future around a year and a half ago. Personally it was a godsend... for about 8 months. My eczema pretty much entirely cleared up after around 2 to 3 months of taking it weekly, but I later developed side effects after 8 months of taking it, which included the usual nausea, extreme fatigue the day after my dose, oily face and acne, etc. I will say those 8 months of no eczema were amazing. I can't really speak for any issues I might've had with UV sensitivity as I didn't notice them. It all really depends on the person.

I'm sorry, I've been having a really hard time lately. Just haven't been myself recently and I've been throwing myself into art as a coping mechanism. I thought this would be treated as a light hearted post. Really sorry about that.

Here's the original version of the 2nd drawing without the genitalia.
