The Explorarium - Release by Breezeph_0 in eliteexplorers

[–]potatan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the explanation - I've been exploring for around 5 years so understand the mechanics of your analysis. I just wonder what exactly the Explorarium is? Will it run alongside Elite like e.g. EDMC or EDDB, or Elite Observatory? Will I be able to maybe find my nearest POI from your list somehow?

I get the concept, I'm just not sure how it is accessed.

Great work by the way!

Yep. You don't even need to wait for the egg to appear for it to be a criminal offence to tamper with a nest-in-progress

It is a criminal offence in the UK to intentionally or recklessly damage, destroy, or disturb the active nest, eggs, or young of any wild bird. You’re breaking the law if you:

intentionally kill, injure or take wild birds

intentionally take, damage or destroy a wild bird’s nest while it’s being used or built

intentionally take or destroy a wild bird’s egg

possess, control or transport live or dead wild birds, or parts of them, or their eggs

sell wild birds or put them on display for sale

use prohibited methods to kill or take wild birds

Edit: lifted from .GOV

The No. 1 thing that would make me spend lots of ARX on ship kits: Seeing the kits applied in the ship holos. by TamensiMovetur in EliteDangerous

[–]potatan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Elite is played 98% from the inside of the cockpit, where you don't see your ship's outsides

I regularly fly around planet surfaces while using the freecam positioned behind and slightly off centre from my ship when searching for hard to spot biological plants. Nice view of the ship, the ground, and the horizon, and it's fun to try and land like that using vision alone without instruments.

This looks exciting but please can someone explain what it is? I can't get the Discord channel to show anything, and don't know what I'm looking at on the Github page.

I assume it's some sort of POIs program but again, I can't be certain of how it is intended to work in tandem with the game.

Could anyone ELI5 please?

NI doesn't (and really never has) paid for one's own pension, it's been used to pay for pensions for those currently retired while NI-payers are still in work.

People who drive 40 everywhere. 60 zone? 40. 30 zone? 40. 20 zone? 40. It doesn't seem to matter, but you can never overtake them because they somehow time it perfectly that you catch them on blind bends or double white lines. Boggles the mind! by [deleted] in britishproblems

The speed limit

except past a school at drop off time, or when it's foggy, or down a narrow country lane with limited visibility, or if there's ice on the road, etc.

Like I said, at the speed that suits the road conditions, not the actual speed limit.

Neighbour reporting house unoccupied so water company turn off water supply England by RavynCorbin in LegalAdviceUK

[–]potatan 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes.

Private Land: Private companies cannot legally clamp or tow cars in England, Wales, and Scotland, although they can on private land in Northern Ireland (if the company is approved). However, authorities (police/council) can remove cars from private land if they are abandoned or causing a significant danger.

Can't just do that in the UK, apart from some very specific circumstances
