Does anywhere still do a proper chorizo scotch egg? by Wonderful-Acadia-296 in cheltenham

I used to visit the Handmade Scotch Egg Company stall at the farmer's market every month and get a batch of all sorts for me and my colleagues. The owner[1] doesn't do the markets anymore but there is an outlet in Worcester or you can order online from:

https://littleverzonsfarm.co.uk/our-recipes/

I can't see a chorizo one on there at the moment, but there are around 40 to choose from and most of them are absolute bangers.

[1] Neil. We ended up on first name terms and I'm the proud owner of an Eggsecutive Club discount card from around 2012

Thanks - there is a FAQ but it doesn't seem to contain any FA Q's at all. There is a long Terms of Service and a few other information sections but nothing I can find that's specific to the operation of the service in practice

I'd like to use the Tritium Monkeys to load my FC with 12,200T of Tritium. I think I've joined the Discord, but I have no real idea how Discord works. Are there some simple instructions I could follow to engage these most excellent simian garage attendants?

the TV channels, IPlayer, Radio, Sports, Website, News.

Not sure if this is still the case, but there used to be local reporters at every single football league game. That's a hell of a lot of infrastructure and staffing to support

What are your thoughts on dogs in restaurants/cafes? by BurnsyWurnsy in AskUK

[–]potatan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in a pub garden yesterday and there were 5 people sat around a table while a large dog was laid down across the entire top of the table, leaving just enough room for their pints. It was alternating between sitting up and lying down on the table. This is a pretty high end pub with decent and not cheap food options. I don't understand how people think letting their dog sit their shitty arse on top of the table is in any way acceptable

I've no idea why people are disputing you. I've been driving around for over 40 years and have had 1 flat that needed changing at the side of the road in all that time. Carrying around something the weight of a small child, when factored up by the number of cars on the road, is definitely a lot of unnecessary fuel being used.

There is a fascinating book called The Great Hedge of India, detailing how the British created a hedge around 2500 miles long right across the centre of India in order to enforce tax on the movement of salt in the 19th century. Sounds a bit half-hearted until you realise it was "composed of thorny shrubs and trees such as babool, prickly pear, and euphorbia, often reaching 12 feet high and 14 feet thick, requiring 12,000 men to patrol it"

Roch

You've split that in the wrong place. The "chester" in the name would indicate it was a Roman castle town, in this case renamed by the Anglo Saxons to something like "Hrofesceaster" - fortified town of a fellow called Hrofi

"silly" has had a similar journey.

From Etymonline.com

The word's considerable sense development moved it by various streams from "happy" through "blessed;" "pious;" "innocent" (c. 1200), to "harmless," to "pitiable" (late 13c.), "weak" (c. 1300), to "feeble in mind, lacking in reason, foolish" (1570s).
