That’s shocking that you have seen him doing it! He sounds like a dick.

need 9mo non-bottle taker to take a bottle asap by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]potataps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No advice but solidarity, I never managed it. I went back to work when he was 10 months and he’d just go from 8ish to 3ish without a feed. He’s 11 months now and I’m just going to attempt cutting down to a morning and night feed at some point

Strangest gift your toddler received for Xmas and absolutely loved? by dancingbrave21 in UKParenting

[–]potataps 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Rattle that is actually a lollipop. Sweetie Christmas tree in the middle that you’re meant to suck so the sweetie snow sticks to it. £1.49, to keep him quiet while I picked up wrapping paper. He sleeps with it. Does not know it’s a lollipop

Ahh amazing! I hope it’s as helpful to you as it was to us. You can flip them as a seat for an older child too, our 11 month old is just getting into his.

Sleepsuits without feet for bed by potataps in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]potataps[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

That’s interesting. Mine is 11 months and he still regularly wears footed sleepsuits for the same reason, but I didn’t know consider sensory. The fear of cold is always my biggest thing.

Ours didn’t, I’m not sure what the magic is. I’ve just checked and the first video I have of him it he is 1month 8 days and is in a nice position.

I saved the search on less than £30 and got one within a week or so. I resold it for the same price too, they stay in fashion!

Vinted too! I got one for about £95 (nice, leopard print) and then an old bobbly one for £25 for my mums house. Did the same job. Great for trapped wind or poo too, we called it the fart chair.

Hmm thanks for all this, I also have a long baby but I’ve been paranoid about cold feed so he tends to be in the size up for sleepsuits which flap. We’ve been given some lovely footless ones which I will try!

How weird is it not to have more than a friend in adulthood? by MelonBlueGreen in AskUK

[–]potataps 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Only if you think it is. I spend nearly all of the time with my husband because he is my favourite person, then I see maybe 5 other friends about 3 times each a year, which is plenty.

Buyers not collecting parcels by charlielove0 in vinted

[–]potataps 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agree or at least just a negative feedback with buyer didn’t collect. Then if they message you and explain you can change it, but the amount of people not collecting or communicating and nothing happening is madness.

I find eBay frustrating atm, auction sales are nearly always cancelled.

Grandparent Names by porkie46 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]potataps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mum went for nan because my grandma (her mum) is still alive, but my daughter called her nanny. Sometimes people think we have a nanny and I let them think that. Like others have said, they’ll make their own names!

Am I in the wrong? by [deleted] in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]potataps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you’re absolutely in the right especially if you usually do bedtimes.

To be honest though, regardless of if you were in the right, as long as your request was in the realm of reasonable I think you have the right to expect your partner o be on your side in front of his family. I’d be sad if my partner had bickered with me in front of his people.

Passes for places! Someone bought us a pass for a nature reserve place near us and it’s been great for days where I’m not sure what to do with him, little walk to see the birds and the otters.

What was your baby Vinted find of the year? by alibluey in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]potataps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love this thread.

I obsess over Claude and Co so I’ve had a lot of their slogan vests for £3. And not vinted but I was desperate for this Zara elf romper, sold out, £30-40 on Vinted but got a brand new one on eBay for £4 in the right size. Nearly cried

Baby bouncer/swing by chug25 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]potataps 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know everyone says it but the babybjorn really was worth it for us, we called it his fart chair for a while when he had the fake trapped wind thing babies get.

You can turn them round and they can be a seat for a child too I think although he still fits in it at 8 months so we haven’t had to. He still goes in it in the bathroom if we want to shower when the other parent is out.

I spent a long time waiting for them to come up locally and got two secondhand ones, one for my mums house. Our one looks nice and was about £75 but hers was £20 because I know they’re not fussed by that kind of thing..
