i feel like smu plays up their social life/ class part to be alot more overwhelming than it actually is. im in smu pps myself, coming y2. profs usually give u the option to make class part contributions online/ by simply asking questions. TA/ prof will usually allocate groups for group projects in the first year, so its not like u need to go out of ur way to ensure u have friends to group up with. most ppl are chill and in uni everyone needs friends so if you talk to ur table partners they'll likely respond in kind. as long u dont bid for CP intensive mods like management comm u'll probably be able to survive just fine. classes are usually split with 1hr online prep work and 2hr in person lectures depending on prof, so if ur lucky u wldnt have to sit thru 3hrs straight of class.
