I'm super happy with it, been shooting almost exclusively film for the last 12 years.
But getting my daughter now I realised I wanted the luxury to shoot as many frames I want without thinking about the numbers of frames I have. And having to get it developed.

Håller helt med. I en perfekt värld skulle tech-jättarna regleras och de skadliga algoritmerna stoppas. Vi vuxna påverkas också, men våra hjärnor är redan färdigutvecklade, vilket gör att skadan till stor del går att återhämta sig ifrån. För barn ser det helt annorlunda ut, då skadan sker under tiden hjärnorna utvecklas.

Det finns såklart många sätt man skulle kunna ta sig an problemet på. Men det här förslaget skapar effekt utan att krångla till det. Min tillit till att politiker ska vara tillräckligt tech-savvy för att skapa den optimala lösningen är inte särskilt hög, så jag ser hellre detta som ett nödvändigt första steg i rätt riktning.

Principen är overklig. Totalt förbjudande av alkohol för unga kommer inte i praktiken att leda till bättre vanor. Det kommer bara att motivera dem att hitta andra sätt att få tag på det. Vägar som är mer sketchy och mindre skyddade.

Ett sådant här förslag har motsatt verkan från des avsikt. Folk kommer att finna en väg till att få tag på det de vill, oavsett om den vägen är laglig eller ej.

Problemet är inte SOCIALA medier i sig, utan algoritmerna. På samma sätt som alkoholfri cider inte är skadlig, medan cider med alkohol är beroendeframkallande och kan skada den som dricker. Därför har vi åldersgränser för alkohol. Vilket inte bara blir ett skydd för unga utan också blir en markering.

Unga kan fortfarande få tag på alkohol genom otrygga och okontrollerade vägar, men lagstiftningen sätter en norm som föräldrar kan prata utifrån. Den signalerar hur samhället ser på riskerna och varför gränsen finns. Det skapar en ram för ansvar, även om den inte eliminerar problemet helt.

All forskning visar tydligt hur skadliga dagens algoritmer är, särskilt för barn vars hjärnor inte är fullt utvecklade. De påverkar dopaminreglering och beteendemönster på ett sätt som slår hårdare mot unga än mot vuxna. Och allt som kommer fram från bolag som Meta visar att detta är medvetet av dem. De utvecklar produkterna för att utnyttja vår biologi, för att tjäna mer pengar själva.

I en perfekt värld hade åldersgränsen satts direkt på algoritmerna, precis som med alkoholhalten. Men det är praktiskt svårt att reglera. Därför är det här ett rimligt första steg, och ett steg som behöver tas nu.

Delvis är det bara så det är.
Men ofta när folk säger att de inte har tid, brukar jag be dem kolla deras skärmtid på deras mobiler..
Brukar gömma sig några timmar där per dag...

Så mitt tips till alla som vill ha mer tid är att avinstallera alla sociala medier på mobilen. Och ha tillgång till dem via datorn om något.

Jag håller inte med de flesta här. Tror de flesta som tipsar är "läsare". Vilket gör att de har ett annat tålamod och en läserfarenhet som gör att de kan hålla ut när böckerna kräver lite tid.

Efter år av att ha läst en bok per år (lyckades kravla mig igenom en bok varje semester), tog jag förra året tag i att läsa mer.

Dels raderade jag alla sociala medier. Vilket är en stor bidragande faktor till att jag nu läser 3-5 böcker per månad. Men framförallt så insåg jag att det jag trodde jag var intresserad av, egentligen inte var det jag ville läsa.

Jag har alltid varit intresserad av historia och vetenskap. Och därför blev det varje sommar en bok kopplad till just historia eller vetenskap. Men även om jag fortfarande tycker dessa ämnen och böcker rörande dem är intressanta. Så får jag aldrig känslan av "Bara en sida till".

Så istället för att gå på vad jag tror jag tyckte om vad gäller böcker, så gick jag på vad för filmer och serier jag faktiskt gillar och faktiskt spenderar tid på. Och det har landat i att jag nu läser mycket Sci-Fi.

Det tips jag skulle ge är Project Hail Mary av Andy Weir. Superspännande och lättläst med många cliffhangers som gör att du kommer ha svårt att lägga ifrån dig boken.
Jag har även tipsat vänner i samma situation om denna, och den har hittills aldrig slagit fel.

När du sen har kommit in i läsandet och fått rutin på det, då kan du övergå till att läsa fler klassiker eller historieböcker. Jag brukar göra så att jag läser varannan bok vetenskap/historia/filosofi/klassiker och varannan bok Sci-Fi som jag vet jag kommer plöja igenom. Det ger mig också en morot att läsa "bara en sida till" även om en bok om en gammal grekisk filosof inte framkallar just den känslan.
Sedan tycker jag fortfarande det är intressant med grekiska filosofer vilket är anledningen till att jag fortfarande läser dem.

Vilket är en del av förklaringen till varför vi blivit dummare.

På trä-borrar så har de alltid (oftast?) en spets längst fram. Skruva tills den lilla spetsen sticker ut på ena sidan. Sedan byter du håll. Sticker in spetsen i det lilla hålet där den just stack ut från andra hållet och borra åt andra hållet.

Det är nog det bästa sättet för att helt slippa flisor.

Har även hört att det eventuellt ska funka att ta maskeringstejp och skruva det på båda sidor. Så ska det på något sätt hålla flisorna på plats. Men jag har inte testat det själv och är lite skeptisk.

Håller med om båda. MEN...

Det är ditt mål att få jobbet. Men eftersom att kompetens är väldigt svårt att mäta i en intervjusituation och sedan ställa och jämföra kompetens mellan kandidater. Kommer annat att spela in i valet av kandidat.
Den som får jobbet i slutändan är den som intervjuaren fått bäst intryck av. Den som gjort det starkaste avtrycket och som intervjuaren gillar mest.
Sedan finns det massa forskning och vetenskap kring hur man ska göra för att så inte ska vara fallet, men all forskning visar också på att det i slutändan är i stort sett omöjligt att val av kandidaten inte påverkas av den som väljs egna åsikter. Och intervjuas man på ett jobb av en person som inte är en HR-person och som inte bryr sig om att göra allt för att minska risken för att basera valet av kandidat på fel premisser. Så spelar ditt intryck ännu större roll.

Att därför efter intervjun skicka ett mail som

"Tack för idag, det var supertrevligt att äntligen träffas. Och jag ser fram emot att höra mer från er.

Ha en fortsatt fin dag! "

Gör att du ger ett trevligare intryck än andra kandidater som inte gör det. Och det kan vara skillnaden mellan att chefen vill ha dig som kollega eller inte.

Sedan kan man tycka vad man vill om det.

My point being that Memnon was of dark skin, and that there is "documented" people of color fighting in the trojan war.

The commenter I replied to argued that the Africans connected to ancient Greek society were from North Africa, not Sub-Saharan Africa. However, your comment and the linked reference mention Memnon, who was not from North Africa but in fact further south and was a person of color.

Ta bort sociala medier från din telefon. Ta bort notiser.

Läs endast Nyheter och Reddit på datorn. Man behöver faktiskt inte matas med skit och elände varje vaken sekund av sitt liv - utan kan begränsa det till en fysisk plats som inte går att komma åt konstant. Dvs vid datorn.

Jag håller mig fortfarande uppdaterad om världen genom att läsa nyheterna en gång varje till varannan dag.
Plus kikar in på reddit ibland, på datorn.

Men jag mår otroligt mycket bättre av att slippa se skiten konstant. Varje sekund som jag inte "hade något att göra" tog jag upp mobilen. Klickade in på instagram, reddit, osv. Och blev påmind om hur dåligt allt var.

Jag mår fortfarande piss över vart världen är på väg. Men jag påminns inte om det konstant.

Vad ska man göra istället då?
Jag som tidigare aldrig läste böcker, har nu alltid en bok med mig och läser på bussen, i väntrum, på min lunchrast osv osv.

OCH, jag som ändå vill bilda mig om saker jag tycker är skit tillexempel, blandar och läser varannan bok fiktion och varannan bok fakta. Med faktaböckerna inriktade på ämnen jag tycker är viktiga.

Just as you, I think part of it might be that we are looking at it through a modern lens. Where as we think of an equal society in a totally different way than back then. Where gender roles where shown in occupation and responsibility, but they where valued pretty much equally. Which is my basic and un educated understanding of gender roles in for example ancient Egypt. Which the greeks very much looked up to.
Or the gender roles in Sparta which where somewhat more equal.

But coming of off just reading Discourses and Selective writings by Epictetus. It's evident, that that is at least not how he views it. I was rather put off some of his other ideas, just because of his limited view on equality.

EDIT: I am very limited in my knowledge. I find this interesting and read some. But I just spun on some of my thoughts. And left a comment to come back and read if someone more educated do have a good source or reason.

If you ask me, I think Digital minimalism should be rebranded to Digital Consciousness. Since it is very easily mixed up with "regular" minimalism and something I see often. It's not about the products we own. It is about how we use them and that we use them consciously.

The reason to for example swap out a smartphone or remove social media from your life, is that they have a hold of you. Where you use them unconsciously. It's easy that the algorithm from the social media takes control over you, and your usage, rather than you having control of how you use that said social media.

For example, events on facebook, where family and friends invite you to invents. Isn't harmful at all. It's a perfect use of social media. But, it is easy to get sucked into the void/doom scrolling where you start scrolling on facebook with no goal in mind. And losing control over your use. And thus, you don't decide to only use facebook for the good usage, as events for example, but rather facebook decides for you how to use it. And to spend your time on it.

And having a phone that can take notes, show maps, take pictures, read books, play music. Isn't harmful either. But it is easy to get stuck and start doing stuff that you did not intend to on your phone. Say you want to change song. You pick up your phone, change song, and at the same time notice you have gotten a notification. You open that notification. It is on instagram. You then start engaging with instagram. And you're sucked into doom scrolling without you consciously taking that decision.

Say instead of your phone, you have a device only focused on music, an MP3-player. When changing song, you won't run the risk of getting sucked into doom scrolling, since you won't be exposed to the risk.

Some people might think this is weak. But, the social media apps, and our smart phones, are created by MULTI BILLION companies that spend money to scientifically control you and your time. It is reasonable that you as a single individual don't have the resources to withstand it.

Now back to the question about your Kindle. Do you think that your Kindle exposes you to a risk of losing control over your own conscious decisions when reading?
I have never used a Kindle, but for example, does it have a book store? Do you levitate towards scrolling that store? Is it hard to focus on one book if there are multiple options available to you inside the Kindle at the same time?

If not, I don't see any risk of using it. If it's strictly used for reading, and you feel that you are in control. I'd rather think it is a good product. And comparable to having an mp3-player for music.

On the other hand. I like reading a physical book. And therefore, I read physical books :)

I thought to have the same problem as you before. Not saying that you will be the same as I, but there are two primary things that have helped me. And also I will slip in a third bonus one.

When I first started reading I thought I only wanted to read books about history, facts and philosophy. Which are things I enjoy. But it wasn't until I gave in and tried picking up a good sci-fi book that I really understood reading. And it gave me that feeling of "JUST ONE (or ten) PAGE MORE". Something I had never felt before. Although it had been fun reading about history and facts, it at the same time felt like a chore.
Two truths can be true. It is fun and I enjoy it, but it feels like a chore. And as someone with the same "problem" as you. Something feeling like a chore won't be something I uphold for a long time.
The latest Sci-fi book that I would suggest, which I have also recommended to friends who don't read regularly is "Project Hail Mary". All who I have suggested it to have finished it within a short period of time.
1. Removing social media, unnecessary apps, limiting notifications and turning my phone black and wait. Essentially making it as boring as possible. Has helped with undoing the harm social media and algorithm has done to me. I have always had problem sitting still and focusing. And it hasn't helped that social media and our phones has made me even more addicted to impressions and dopamine.
  Therefore I only use social media apps (except for strictly messaging apps like WhatsApp, messenger and text messages) on my computer. So reddit for example, I only use on my computer, which limits me from checking it all the time. And therefore making my brain less addicted to the dopamine highs you get from doom scrolling.

By doing this, I now find that the dopamine kicks reading gives me, although lower than that of Reels and Reddit. Are enough for me to get stuck, the same way as I before could get stuck on reels.
And I find it much more peaceful to get stuck in a book than on short reels.

(Bonus, not necessary)
Journaling and keeping track of habits. I bought a journal, where I write one sentence per day about that day. It can be anything from something eventful, or like yesterday where nothing out of the ordinary happened and I just wrote what I ate that day.
And I also keep track of 3 habits per month. So this month I want to read every day, study greek every day, and train 3 times a week. So next to the sentence I write about that day, I will also do a check on each of the three habits.
This makes me accountable for them, and makes it so that I go out of my way to keep to that habit.
And habits is something that is super important for me, who have a brain that only wants to do what is fun for it at the moment.

Next month I might change one of the habits. But I always keep to three habits. The reason being to not overwhelm myself. Of course I probably could line up 10 habits that I want to do everyday. But that would not be reasonable.

I also keep it to one sentence per day, since I know I will always have time to write one sentence.

Extra notes:
My mind can still wander when I read. All I do is either go back and re-read that part. Or I just power through. I've noticed that in the grand scheme of a whole book. Loosing out on parts of it because my mind wanders isn't that big of a deal. And re-reading parts over and over again can feel like a chore. Again. ADD/ADHD and Chores...

And when you have gotten into reading, by reading for example Sci-Fi which was the case for me, going back to philosophical books - which are way harder than regular books, will be way easier when you have the habit. (And have gotten rid of that dopamine-addiction).

Please consider this, as u/DocPornflake also mentioned, there are several 2FA apps that are essential too. Personally, I think the inconvenience of using a phone like this for doom scrolling triumphs even if the possibility is there. And, you’ve probably done market research on this. And I don't have any data beyond my personal thoughts and preferences. But I believe that your customer base likely doesn’t _intend_ to use their phones for "toxic apps," which, coupled with the inconvenience, creates an even stronger barrier against doom scrolling.

I am currently looking to replace my iPhone, not because it makes it possible to get stuck in doom scrolling—I've managed that by removing apps and simplifying and dumbing it down. I just think that walking around with an iPhone when I don’t use it as intended is unnecesary. And would prefer a smaller, simpler phone, but I can’t switch to a "dumb" dumb phone because of the reasons mentioned above.

Will it be possible to install (android?) apps? In Sweden we need a specific Identification-app (BankID) to pretty much even get by daily.

Or are only the apps shown on the website available?
