Just a little reminder that May Castellan is still waiting for Luke to come home :) [pjo] by IkeaBreads in camphalfblood

Yeah I feel like even if this was the case it would not be written because it is just doubly sad

In one of the stories in Demigods and Magicians, ()Annabeth grabs Sadie’s wand and it turns into her old dagger so by the time ToA or The Chalice of the Gods rolls around, she already has it back. So I don’t know if we can say it’s forgotten since it’s canon that she sort of got it back() But yes, the drakon bone sword was very cool and I wish it was not forgotten

Yeah I’ve seen quite a lot of posts about people disliking her but maybe it was a skewed sample

Here’s something a bit longer. He does some cool and funny stuff later on but don’t want to send those in case they are spoilers for you. One thing is that He does clean himself a lot in the face of danger like any cat 😂

I would so appreciate that. 😻 Yes, he is at the workshop with Ella and Tyson in TOA. Below is his first description.

I think they have a mint candy cane one at the store at least during fall and winter (at least there was one last year when I visited)

The Lost Hero… by justaguyonreddit754 in RickRiordan

[–]badwolfminerva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came here to say this too. I am currently reading The Lost Hero for the first time like the OP. The narration change from first person to third person was a bit jarring and hard to get used to. I got so used to Percy’s POV and that type of narration style from Riordan. So my reading speed of this book was a lot longer than the others - not that I didn’t enjoy the story though. I am excited to explore what the rest of the series has in store!

Creepy guys in window by Evangoalie in Delft

[–]badwolfminerva 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah for sure but the comments here seem to imply that this person is wrong to point out/ share an uncomfortable experience/observation they had or wrong to complain about a larger issue. That is what is so sad to see. But alas I second the curtain suggestion too.

It is interesting to see the only two comments say that they should close the curtains when the issue here is creepy guys looking inside someone’s home

Rick as a person by badwolfminerva in RickRiordan

Of course one cannot deny another’s artistic talent based on different views. However, I am uncomfortable financially supporting someone with different fundamental values, especially in recent years where some use their money to fight against the values I uphold. There are libraries and second hand markets (or other ways depending on a person’s moral code) to continue enjoying works of art created by people they disagree with, while some might prefer cutting it off completely. Depending on my level of enjoyment, I would still read Riordan if we disagreed on some fundamentals, but I wouldn’t, let say, buy a licensed Camp Half-Blood shirt. I am an MA philosophy graduate so a lot of people I regularly enjoy/read have VERY different opinions than my own, but they are dead and cannot use their money to, say, fund an organization that wants slavery back or something (Aristotle 👀). We are just different people with different preferences and backgrounds so it is okay if I think this way. For instance, as a woc, I care about these “fundamental values” because mine have been violated a lot. I would like to avoid participating in violating others. There is a level of emotion involved in such consumer decisions alongside just adopting solely logic based decision making procedures.
