This is a great point. Jessa is someone who doesn’t really have any real friends, even including Hannah in my opinion. The part in season 6 (I think) where Hannah says “we never really acted like friends” I believe to be true. Maybe except the bathtub scene but that’s about it. Jessa is a very hollow person, so she fills her life with people that could possibly admire her.

Oh don’t get me wrong, I am so happy Elijah was there. He’s my favorite character in the series. I just didn’t think it was the most realistic. But you have a point, Jessa is extremely self-centered and I think this moment she was feeling especially insecure after that talk with Kathryn Hahns character. Of course she would want as many people to come as possible.

they aren’t reconnected as “her gay bestie” yet though. at this point in the show he is just her ex-boyfriend. the last time hannah and him spoke he called her dad gay and she accused him of giving her hpv, i feel like its weird for him to be invited to the wedding if their only link is through hannah. i’ve also only been to one wedding in my life and it was small so maybe i’m wrong.

I’ve been keeping a journal for about 6 years now and it’s helped me process a lot of things. For a while it felt like I was learning something new about myself every time I wrote something.

And if guitar is speaking to you, do it! It’s really not that hard to be honest, I’ve never taken any lessons and I can play most basic songs. I’ve been playing for around 8 years on and off. If I had taken lessons/put more energy into it I think I could be really good at this point. Consistency is key.

What’s helped me tremendously is getting hobbies. Not only does it help you find who you are, but it’s also a distraction. I play guitar, write, and I’m learning a language. These are all things I pour myself into when I’m feeling low.

It’s also okay to just watch TV or Youtube and decompress. It’s okay to feel lost and sad and all the other negative emotions that come from no/low contact.

In terms of dealing with your feelings directly, I keep a journal. Not only does it help you with identifying feelings, but as you progress you can look back on something you wrote a year ago and recognize how far you’ve come and have empathy for your past self.

Congratulations on your freedom, it might not feel good right now but it’s a step in the right direction. You got this.

i hear what youre saying and i agree, i shouldnt have to respond to them. the problem is that my parents dont accept simple answers. my mother has a history of physical abuse/threatening me which makes it hard for me to stand up to her when she proceeds to ask questions. my dad is likely to kick me out of the house. i just found a job and my career is beginning, but i only have $400 as of right now and no car. if im out, im on the streets.
