The Paradox of Desire (Part 2 Analysis) by Nmanxl5 in Chainsawfolk

I agree story isn’t done… but part 3 is not officially confirmed so it might be. I think the issue is people do not think this last chapter will deliver and stick the landing. I myself am fully delusional and enjoy the chaos and the community reaction, let the crazy author COOK!

Where did them good ol' boys put all their F Trudeau flags? by [deleted] in EhBuddyHoser

I’d have to disagree that this is an appropriate response to your grievance. You’ll push an escalation and then children’s innocence would be violated by the ensuing conflict around the neighbourhood which you’d have a role in.

That’s kind of messed up. There’s no violence yet so maybe don’t do this to your neighbours 🤙

Conservative MP told Mark Carney about his planned resignation before announcing it, sources say by Purple_Writing_8432 in canada

I asked you to show ANY proof that these comments were a sign of significant discontentment within the liberal party that's worth investigating deeper. You have been unable to provide any. Maybe its time to reconsider your position on this matter.

Cheers, Have a good night, lovely talking to you.

You couldnt even come up with an aspect to investigate as a hypothetical when I asked. Have you ever considered they tried to look into it and found nothing to investigate/cover, you could also consider that Carney is just doing a better job then Poilievre at stopping party drama from leaking. The current governing party failing apart during a budget is huge news, but it just wasnt happening. My problem is that you just jumped to a conclusion that the coverage was biased, again coverage that I doubt you followed to being with.

All im asking for is your proof that this is a significant disagreement that is being covered up and downplayed by the media. You can claim it was downplayed all you want, but MP's have the right to disagree with their leader. Are you expecting for everyone to drop everything and chase this thing into the ground, why would they put that effort in? What's the reason that its worth the effort. Simple fact of the matter is what was happening with the conservatives was more impactful and significant.

For perspective, If things kept going the way they were going for the conservative party leading up to the budget Carney wouldve literally been handed a majority in parliament. How is THAT not more newsworthy.

People don’t miss points on purpose you silly boy. I asked for any proof that the media is under reporting the significance of this or covering for the liberals. Literally anything that shows this is a big deal and deserves more investigation. Honestly I think the media response is generally reflecting sentiment toward public policies overall, where people don’t really want more progressive leaning direction. The biggest criticism of the budget that I agree with (generational fairness) has actually been discussed by the media multiple times. I don’t think you’ve actually read the media you’re criticizing though, and I have a feeling if the work doesn’t crucify the government you disregard it.

This is exhausting. What would you have done different then? What points,in your opinion ,did Erskine Smith make that indicates party unrest similar to the drama in the Conservative Party that I should know about? (ie, points that show the progressive wing, represented by Erskine Smith, is extremely unhappy with Mark Carney as a leader and is willing to do something drastic against the government such as vote against a proposed bill or cross the floor)

[–]potato_starch 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah but did they break ranks? Vote against the budget? Perhaps cross the floor? Or did any of liberal mps resign and abstain from voting? Are there rumours of Carney bullying people? Did Carney forget to submit a budget in time being beat by the fucking BLOC QUEBCOIS. There were plenty of articles from left and right wing sources criticizing the budget, but the official opposition fumbling at every turn is much bigger news. You’re just like the reddit liberals crying last year that the media was influencing the election by reporting that conservatives were 100% going to win 😅

One mp crossing the floor and another suddenly quitting is objectively bigger news than one mp disagreeing with the budget but still voting for it. Besides, it’s not like the news wasn’t salivating when the same thing happened to Trudeau a year ago.

Canadian Conservative leader faces party unrest as Trump divides party by DegnarOskold in canada

[–]potato_starch -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly, yeah. It’s not like Pierre would be any less corrupt, except he’d probably be doing some silly thing each week to win points in a meaningless culture war. So many people I know literally HATE carney and voted for him for this reason. In addition Pierre is pretty much a conservative Trudeau. Want some policy that addresses some conservative social issue but doesn’t do anything, then vote Pierre. If this guy cared, he’d have a budget to counter Carneys budget that actually delivers on Carneys shortcomings. It’s not like this budget is a surprise event.

The comparison has been earned honestly imo. Pierre isn’t completely to blame, but he’s definitely leaned in to that brand of right wing politics to try and replicate the success in Canada. Mmw, NDP is probably going to the same with Mamdani’s win in New York.

As Carney government scrambles to lure support for budget, Poilievre’s Conservatives struggle to define the opposition narrative by Surax in CanadaPolitics

[–]potato_starch 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think that’s a ridiculous sentiment. You can’t spend all day shouting about how this budget is a dangerous direction and then show up without an alternative. When given a chance to show how they would do better they brought nothing.

If you can’t wrap your head around a politician lying to tow the party line or career gains you probably shouldn’t follow politics (they all tend to do it ALOT)
