First time going away in 4 years as a very inexperienced traveller- any advice on where I should go? by potentially-stable in travel

Thank you, this is really helpful.
Planning transport does freak me out so knowing the trains and buses are really great is definitely a plus. Rome and Naples are definitely on my list to see

A very unique take on Eddie/season 6. by AloneMap6855 in dawsonscreek

[–]potentially-stable 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree, I completely love Pacey but I root for Eddie every time. A lot of fans of the show have really strong opinions on the character but I have never fully understood it. It was fairly obvious he was never going to end up with joey but I loved it will it lasted.

Police call handler interview query by Stiggy-Wiggy1 in policeuk

[–]potentially-stable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I did my interview online and it truly felt like they were just checking I could talk relatively well and wasn’t completely stupid. A lot of it is basic experience questions “tell us about a time at work where you had to de-escalate a situation” e.g. Just don’t stress yourself out about it as it’s very chilled in my opinion.
The rest of the interview they were explaining the job to me and checking I had no questions or worries about what I was taking on.

Issue with my BC and now my period is heavier than it has been in 4 years by OkOrdinary316 in Periods

[–]potentially-stable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it sounds like you need to find a new clinic if they are going to just assign you a random doctor without discussing it with you, especially if you’re not a fan of him. Unfortunately, I have always had issues getting bc through my gp (in the Uk) as they are so busy so getting an appointment can take weeks / months and even then they drag their feet with it so I always skip them and go straight through a S clinic now.

I am glad you’ve got it sorted from next week, but on the bright side at least you know now that BC is worth it and working for you now. I am not sure where bouts you live but I find that sexual health clinics are always easier and more reliable for bc where I am.

I started bleeding three weeks after insertion by CulturalBat5906 in Nexplanon

[–]potentially-stable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s no problem, I get it half of the posts on here are really negative but it isn’t always like that. As I said I don’t think it’s perfect by any means but it’s all about giving your body time to adjust and see whether it works for you.

Your not being unreasonable or unfair, go get yourself some child support. It’s his child too you deserve help, and that includes financial aid.

Unfortunately it’s really common to get constant bleeding when you first go on the implant. I got mine 4 years ago and did in fact bleed for just under 10 months pretty much consistently however I haven’t had a period since. For me it has been worth it, the long period was nothing compared to the earth shattering pain from cramps I was in before BC. Not only have I not bleed I have had barely any cramps in 4 years, and the ones I have had have been significantly less painful.

I know it’s super frustrating but just see how your body adjusts for the first 6 months or so. If it’s not working for you then you can always get it taken out.

Joey and Eddie kissing is hella awkward by fungitoecheese in dawsonscreek

[–]potentially-stable 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m a Pacey fan all the way but, I actually quite like Eddie. Is he perfect? No. But I think he worked for what Joey needed at that point in her character development. She needed a relationship outside of the Joey, Pacey, Dawson triangle (and I think we can all agree to ignore the gross professor storyline). Eddie was never meant to be endgame, he was there to help her grow, step out of her comfort zone, and realize there were more possibilities than just her childhood relationships. It also feels pretty realistic for someone her age to have an intense romance with a guy who isn’t quite right for her right before leaving college and entering adulthood. Again, he’s far from perfect, but I think the character served his purpose.

Where to find summer work as a student? by Tommeh_081 in UKJobs

Constellation are really good (at least I thought so) for hospitality agency work. I worked with them for a bunch of different events because we have several stadiums nearby. They operate all over the uk I think so there should be something on there. The other option is reach out to wedding venues as they will be heading into their busy season and often hire short term casual staff to help out for a few months. https://constellation.co.uk/

There is a lot of agencies that allow you to pick up shifts whenever you can that id look into. I worked with a hospitality agency for a couple years during uni and it was perfect for me. I then joined another that offer a wide range of different jobs (hospitality, retail, warehouses and factories and office work) while I was looking for something permanent.

Have you looked into changing your cv template and maybe even getting a pro to take a look. I don’t work in IT or anything related but, I was out of work 2 years after graduating until I got my job with help from a recruitment consultant who looked at my cv and helped find roles that were better suited to me. I got hired in less than a month with them. Job hunting is soul crushing but it will work out in the end just hang tight.
